Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Infinity Union was a combination of three powerful cosmic devices which could destroy the universe, and channel all forms of ambient energy. When Nebula wielded the power of the Infinity Union, she could grow in size, was immune to physical harm, could reverse the Vision's powers, teleport, kill and recreate the Stranger, and cause the universe to blink in and out of existence.
History: (Avengers I#317 (fb) - BTS) - At some point in the past, the Stranger obtained the Infinity Union and hid it deep within his laboratory world for safekeeping.
(Avengers West Coast#48 - BTS) - Nebula and Gunthar discovered tablets on Omicron Seti which informed her of the Infinity Union. She brought the tablets back to her ship for study, so that she could determine how to find a power source for the device.
(Avengers I#311 - BTS) - Nebula analyzed the tablets from Omicron Seti with Gunthar, and determined that the scientist Professor Harker of Earth was the one who would lead her to the source of power she sought.
(Avengers I#317 (fb)) - Nebula and Gunthar followed the directions to the laboratory world of the Stranger, and stole the three parts which made up the Infinity Union from him.
(Avengers I#318 (fb)) - Nebula and Gunthar studied the Infinity Union, and discovered the frequency on which it transmitted its energies. Gunthar created a bio-receiver which he planted inside Nebula's brain so that the Infinity Union's power would be transferred to her.
(Avengers I#314-315 - BTS) - Nebula wielded the Universal Compressor on Earth, causing it to briefly destroy the universe so that the energy involved in that process would be transferred to the Infinity Union back aboard her ship.
(Avengers I#317) - When the Stranger came after Nebula to retrieve the Infinity Union, the Avengers determined that neither he nor Nebula should be allowed to possess it, and searched Nebula's ship themselves to find it. Spider-Man was able to pinpoint its location with his spider-sense, and attempted to latch onto it with his webbing, but it activated a failsafe which transferred all of the power it had stored from the Compressor into Nebula.
(Avengers I#318) - Nebula reveled in her power, and killed and recreated the Stranger several times as a demonstration of her might. The Avengers attemtped to oppose her, but were outmatched. Nebula continued to toy with them, causing the universe to repeatedly flash in and out of existence, until the Stranger learned of Nebula's bio-receiver, and redirected the energies of the Infinity Union into himself. This enabled the Avengers enough time to shut Nebula down by having Sersi remove the bio-receiver from her brain. Afterwards, the Stranger promised to destroy the Infinity Union.
