Powers/Abilities: Urch did not demonstrate any
superhuman abilities.
She was knowledgeable about the
Reformines' layout and the abilities of the Overseers and their
weapons, and she was willing to risk her life for her family and for
her own freedom.

Eyes: Green (sometimes she looked to have green irises or
pupils, and sometimes her eyes looked more like patterns of energy;
perhaps the latter was just from reflections)

Skin: Apparently light blue
(you can see from the images that her skin looked like different colors
-- green to blue-green and gray, at least -- in different parts of the
story, which likely reflected the shadowed and/or peripheral lighting;
the final appearance was on the well-lit surface, so maybe her skin
color is actually gray) 
History:
(X-Man#62 (fb) - BTS) <Over twenty years before the main story> -
Urch's mother was a thief, and upon being convicted, she was sent to
the Reformines penal colony deep within the Shi'ar throneworld,
Chandilar
(X-Man#62 (fb) - BTS) - Urch's mother met Grun, a fellow
prisoner and petty thief.
(X-Man#62 (fb) - BTS) - A few years later, Urch was
born, and she apparently inherited her parents' prison sentences, as
the system prevented anyone from ever leaving.
Like the other miners, she was forced to wear a
features-concealing helmet that emitted a low-frequency buzz that
fogged the minds of its wearers, allowing them to function on a primal
level.
(X-Man#61 (fb) - BTS) - After her mother became pregnant
again, Urch continued to work in the mines with her father, Grun.
(X-Man#61 (fb) - BTS) - Recently (relative to the
main story), Urch befriended and was inspired and entertained by Fuzz,
a self-evolved fuzzy logic program, as she considered it a bright,
shining example of something that literally made a life for itself down
in the mines2
(X-Man#61 (fb) - BTS) - Urch head about a
recently-patched incoming supply chute in the Reformines' loading docks
from the workers who repaired it.
(X-Man#61 (fb) - BTS) - Nate Grey of Earth-295 (the "Age
of Apocalypse," whose telekinetic powers had been temporarily limited
to direct physical contact) was sent to the Reformines.
(X-Man#61) - After Nate regained enough awareness
to focus his telepathic and telekinetic powers to remove his helmet.
While he wished to help the other prisoners do the same, they were then
assaulted by the Underseers, who served as a security force within the
mine. After Nate disarmed a pair of the Underseers, Grun took up their
seer-slicer weapons and joined the fight.
(X-Men#61 / X-Man#62 (fb) - BTS) - As the Underseers
tried to subdue the entire group of prisoners, Urch positioned herself
to have them to strike her at certain locations on neck and wrists with
their seer-slicers (which allegedly could cut through anything and
everything), weakening the mechanism that locked her helmet on her head
and the restraining bands on her wrists.
(X-Man#61 - BTS) - Believing Urch to have been
harmed, Nate and Grun savagely attacked the Underseers until one of the
Shi'ar Overlords appeared in a beam of light and used some sort of
sphere device to bind their hands behind their backs. Just before the
Underseers attacked the helpless pair, Nate saw that Urch's body
was...(gone?).
(X-Man#61 - BTS) - Nate awakened in a laboratory
of some sort, where he observed a restrained pregnant woman in
labor pains (Urch's mother, although he did not know that at the time).
(X-Man#61 (fb) - BTS) - Urch followed Nate to her
pregnant daughter, apparently knowing she would be at the
preconditioning facility.
(X-Man#61) - As Urch arrived alongside Fuzz, a
portal opened up beneath her mother, pulling her down. As she screamed
to not let them take her baby, Nate was able to use his contact
telekinesis to slow down her departure long enough for Urch to claim
the newborn baby, proclaiming, "It's a
girl, Marchalla--" The mother was then pulled away, screaming "Noooo!" despite Nate's efforts, after
which they were confronted by a large group of Underseers.
Taking Urch in his arms (with the baby in her arms),
Nate telekinetically boosted his jumping strength to leap over the
Underseers, after which he boosted his running speed to get ahead of
them. When the Underseers surrounded them, Nate used one of their
seer-slicers to rend the ground in front of them, causing them to fall
through the collapsing rocks.
(X-Man#62) - Clutching the baby in her arms as
they fell through the ground (and accompanied by Fuzz), Urch told Nate
(whom she called Nategrey) to do something quickly. Clutching one of
the seer-slicers, Nate grabbed Urch and guided her to a ledge. She
complained that they were trapped and that the Underseers (see
comments) would be right behind them. Using his contact
telekinesis, he sealed the passage behind them.
(X-Man#62 - BTS) - When the
Underseers arrived, they considered the prisoners to be missing; they
contacted the Overlords and told them to seal all of the access routes
immediately. Majestrix Lilandra was alerted to the attempted escape in
progress.
(X-Man#62) - Urch asked Nate the plan, as they
had a cold and hungry baby to worry about, and he had just dug them
deeper. He advised her that it would take a while for the Underseers to
catch up to them, and he tried but failed to remove his magne-cuffs,
which were "psi-sheened" against his telekinesis. Urch advised him that
he could not force them off but then revealed that she had
strategically manipulated the Underseers into striking her helmet and
cuffs, which she then removed. She enjoyed her very first opportunity
to see the world without the restrictions of her cursed helmet, and she
vowed not to let her sister suffer the same fate.
Urch then explained to Nate that that was her mother
who had died on the birthing table (see
comments),
and she detailed how her parents had been sent there for crimes, which
she inherited via being born there. Nate vowed to get her out of there.
As Urch and Nate huddled together to warm the baby, she told him her
full name and explained Fuzz's nature. After Nate expressed interest in
pursuing a romance once they reached the surface, Urch told him about
how his psionic rewiring was internal. Further discussion was
interrupted by a Darkle -- alleged survivors of an early bio-lab
explosion rumored to have sabotaged their own medical procedures to
escape the pain once and for all -- which had caught Fuzz. The
mysterious creature apparently alerted them to the wall, which Urch
determined was being drilled through, and Nate telekinetically made a
new pathway through which they escaped before the Underseers arrived.
They arrived the chambers were
workers were given three hours for their primary sleep cycle, and Urch
located her father, Grun, and showed him his new daughter, Marchalla.
When Nate tried to slip away, Urch stopped him, insisting that with her
sister left with her father, she was going to join in escaping. He
argued that it was too dangerous, but she convinced him that she knew
how best to safely navigate the mines. She subsequently led him into
the heavily-guarded loading darks, where she discussed the
recently-patched incoming supply-chute. She told him how with his
telekinesis she thought they should be able to slip in and force their
way out against the flow; however, the same or another Darkle then
arrived and generated flashing lights that alerted the Underseers to
their presence. 
After noting that the Darkle was no friend of hers
and had been following Nate for some reason, she advised him that they
were surrounded, outnumbered and losing ground, and she led him to flee
down the waste disposal chute. The stench caused Nate to instinctively
form telekinetic bubbles, both protecting them from the toxic sludge
and trapping oxygen for them to breathe. After Nate levitated them to
the next level, Fuzz static-cleaned them to get the smell off of them,
and Urch noted how well they worked together; neither of them were
apparently aware of the Darkle following them.
They soon made it to the surface, after which they
were surrounded by Underseers and seemingly confronted by Lilandra
(actually a two-way photo-electrical transmission), who told them that
they could return to the mines without further consequence if they went
peacefully. While Urch kneeled down and begged forgiveness from and
praised "She-who-brings-peace-and-progress," Nate refused to obey
and insisted that she needed to know the extent of the horrors
occurring in the Reformines. Taking Urch with him, Nate approached
Lilandra and tried to psi-link her into every detail of Urch's
suffering; he was briefly thwarted when he found her presence to just
be a remote transmission, but Fuzz's power allowed him to make the link
and send everything to Lilandra.
Lilandra was devastated to learned the truth about the
Reformines and those imprisoned there.
(X-Man#62 (fb) - BTS) - Lilandra apparently made
Urch a spokesperson for the Reformines, and Grun and Marchalla were
apparently freed as well.
(X-Man#62) - Urch bade farewell to "Nategrey" as he
was sent back to Earth in a capsule.

In X-Men#61, when
the baby is born, Urch says "The baby!
It's a girl, Marchalla--"...which
might seem like she's telling Marchalla she has had a girl. However,
the next issue clarifies that the baby is Marchalla and that the mother
is also Urch's mother.
Urch's mother
was alive when the baby was born, but Nate was unable to stop the
mechanical systems from taking her away. She was even screaming when
she was pulled away, so I'm not sure why Urch said in X-Man#62 that she
had died on the birthing table. Maybe Nate's telepathy discovered this
and he told Urch. Or, perhaps Urch could empathically sense the death
of her mother.
In X-Man#62,
the Underseers were consistently called the Overseers. There were
Underseers and Overlords in X-Man#61, and as the Reformines were
subterranean, Underseers makes good sense...and is much less generic
than Overseers.
