First Appearance: Blackwulf I#9 (February, 1995)
History:
(Blackwulf
I#9 (fb) - BTS) - The Celestials long ago visited Tebbel and created an
offshoot race, similar to the Deviants created on Earth.
(Blackwulf I#9 (fb) - BTS) - The natives of Tebbel divided the world into special zones for those who differed too greatly to live harmoniously.
(Blackwulf I#9 (fb) - BTS) - They sustained their numbers by resurrecting the dead.
(Blackwulf I#9 (fb) - BTS) - A controlled breeding program, designed to eliminate the unstable DNA complex inherent in all Deviants, which diminished the number of Deviants on Tebbel.
Nirvana, the daughter of the astronomer Khult was the result of this controlled breeding program.
(Blackwulf I#9 (fb) - BTS) <Over 25,000 years ago> - Khult and his daughter Nirvana, both astronomers observed as Tantalus' spacecraft entered Tebbel's solar system, and they anticipated his arrival.
(Blackwulf I#9 (fb) - BTS) - When Tantalus arrived on Tebbel, it was a small, cold planet populated by an array of righteous people who were mostly fishermen.
(Blackwulf I#9 (fb)) - Their ability to resurrect their dead could not overcome Tantalus' death-touch.
(Blackwulf I#9 (fb)) -Tantalus and his army led their campaign of death to the Building of Knowledge, where Khult noted that they were but simple scientists, and he asked that while they could kill him if they must, to please spare Nirvana. As Tantalus' soldiers restrained Khult, he attempted to feed on Nirvana, but he found her to be resistant to his death-touch.
Tantalus fell in love with Nirvana, and to protect her world, she promised to return that love.
Nirvana and Khult returned to Tantalus' homeworld, Arqa, which her remade for her and renamed Armechadon.

The flashback history of Tantalus goes
on to note
that after returning to Arqa and renaming/remaking it as Armechadon,
Tantalus conquered 4 more worlds, after which he departed Armechadon,
which was 25,000 years ago.
So, Tebbel hasn't been seen in 25,000 years, and who
knows what it's current fate is...
It's unclear to me whether Tebbel was still populated
It was also spelled Tebble in one panel, but Tebbel was the first spelling (it was only referenced twice, as far as I saw).
I'm really not sure how or when the
top/main image matches up with the text history.
Was that in-fighting amongst the people of Tebbel
(Deviants vs. "norms"; or Deviants vs. Deviants)?
Or was that Tantalus' forces slaughtering the people
of Tebbel?

![]() ![]() The Building of Knowledge was a structure on the planet Tebbel, from which astronomers, such as Khult and Nirvana, and apparently other scientists worked. After invading/assaulting Tebbel, Tantalus led his army to the Building of Knowledge, within which they encountered Khult and Nirvana --Blackwulf I#9 |
Three soldiers, at least, accompanied Tantalus in entering the
Building of Knowledge. One had orange skin and pointed ears; he was significantly larger than the other two, but appeared to be significantly shorter than Tantalus (who was very tall, maybe like 8-10'). The two others shown had green skin. The orange one and the taller of the two green ones entered the Building first, while the shorter of the two green ones entered alongside Tantalus. When Tantalus confronted Nirvana with his death-touch, the orange one and the taller green one restrained Khult. --Blackwulf I#9 Note: The images were fairly distant and had minimal detail, so it is pretty difficult to say much about them. The image of their entrance into the Building of Knowledge is shown in the sub-profile for the Building of Knowledge. |
