However, each consecutive child was more genetically unstable than the last, and their fourth child, Lucian, bore the birthmark of his father's black legacy. Enraged, Tantalus blamed Nirvana and struck her to the ground.

On the eve of Tantalus' departure for Earth, Nirvana took her own life rather than face the prospect of creating another abomination.

(Blackwulf I#8 (fb) - BTS / Blackwulf I#9 (fb)) - When Tantalus discovered Nirvana's corpse, he enshrined her in a preservative "black legacy" force field and stood her atop the tower balcony, a symbol of his eventual return.

(Blackwulf I#9 (fb) - BTS) - Over the centuries, many princely suitors attempted to remove the black legacy force field, instead meeting gruesome fates from their efforts.

By some means, this led to the origination of the Blackwulf rebellion.

(Blackwulf#8) - When Tantalus finally returned to Armechadon, he was shocked by what Khult had done to Nirvana. She begged Tantalus to end her life, but he became engaged in battle against Khult.

(Blackwulf#9) - Nirvana attempted to sway Tantalus into remaining on Armechadon, but he struck her down, and continued to battle Khult.

(Blackwulf#10) - As members of the Undergrounds from both earth and Armechadon arrived to combat Tantalus, the Blackwulf of Armechadon promised to set Nirvana free from her torture. However, Tantalus hurled him into Nirvana, and he was instantly killed by the Black Legacy.

With the arrival of Nirvana's son Lucian, now the Blackwulf of Earth, Nirvana asked him to set her free by absorbing the Black Legacy, even though it meant Lucian would again be possessed by that dark power. Lucian agreed, and as he embraced his mother, she crumbled into dust, leaving behind only her dress and hair.

(Blackwulf#10) - Dr. Caitlin Maddox, who bore a strong resemblance to Nirvana, used Nirvana's clothes and hair to distract Tantalus shortly afterward, providing Blackwulf the opportunity to slay his father.
