History:
(War Action I#5) - Sgt. Stone was leading a combat patrol when they discovered a squad of Communist soldiers advancing. Stone gave his men the sign to attack, hurling grenades at them. As Stone had been ordered to bring back one prisoner, he selected an enemy soldier who tried to break off and run from the fight. Sgt. Stone chased after him and tackled him. The soldier drew a grenade to throw at Stone but Stone punched him in the jaw, knocking him backward. Stone ducked down as the grenade went off, killing the soldier.

    Sgt. Stone was afraid he wouldn't have a prisoner to bring back but one of his men discovered one of the soldiers had been playing possum. They brought the soldier back to Captain Durk to be interrogated. Durk determined the squad Sgt. Stone assaulted belonged to a guard company who were based in the woods beyond where they had fought. Stone asked to lead a patrol against the enemy company but Captain Durk opined that Sgt. Stone and his men needed rest after having been on patrol all night. Over Stone's objections, Durk assigned him and his squad to guard the army's command post while the rest of their company went after the enemy company.

    Sgt. Stone was left with his squad on guard duty and Stone complained to his subordinates about being left behind. However, the enemy soldiers had moved into a flanking position and started up the hill towards the command post. Noting that there was a large supply of grenades at the post, Stone ordered his fellow soldiers to begin throwing them at the enemy troops. They kept this up until all of the enemy soldiers were dead. When Captain Durk returned, he was surprised to see all the dead soldiers and realized the company he had gone in search of had assaulted their position. Stone was infuriated that he'd been left to face the enemy company while Captain Durk's forces hadn't seen any combat on their patrol.

Captain Durk

Captain Durk was Sgt. Stone's superior officer. When Durk received intelligence from a captured enemy soldier that there was an entire company in woods near his command post, he resolved that he would lead their company against the enemy while leaving Sgt. Stone and his squad at the command post on guard duty as a way of getting a rest. However, the enemy company attacked the command post while Captain Durk and the others were gone. When Durk returned, he saw Sgt. Stone and his men had wiped out the entire enemy company.
