History:
(Girl Comics I#12) - Stella Spencer worked as a record keeper in a Washington D.C. government office where foreign agent dossiers were kept on file. Major Carraway led the office while Herman Kautz was head of Stella's department. One day, Mr. Kautz introduced Stella to a new employee, Bruce Felton, and Kautz asked Stella to show Bruce the ropes. Stella showed Bruce the door to the room where the file dossiers were kept and informed him that the files could only be accessed with Major Carraway's orders. Bruce was immediately taken with Stella and wondered if she was married, engaged or had a sweetheart overseas fighting in the Koren War. Stella mentioned she had two brothers fighting in the Korean War and wondered why Bruce wasn't in the Army. Bruce answered that he had a "bum ticker." Bruce forcefully invited Stella to lunch, dinner, a show and eventually marriage. He claimed he didn't have any friends in Washington D.C. so Stella agreed to start by meeting him for lunch.

    Over lunch, Stella got to know Bruce better and found him charming. After that, they began to date regularly and Stella realized she was falling in love with him. When Bruce repeated his request to marry her, this time Stella could see it wasn't flippant and she told him she would marry him.

    One day at the office, Major Carraway gave Stella a set of foreign agent dossiers that he told her were to be filed under "dangerous... active!" Stella didn't see Bruce at his desk when she passed by on her way to the restricted file room. Bruce surprised her in the file room despite her reminder that he shouldn't be in the area without Major Carraway's permission. Bruce kissed her, insisting a kiss from her was "worth bing court-martialed for!" As Stella filed the dossiers Major Carraway gave her, she saw Bruce's photograph was among them but the dossier name was "Kurt Falson."

    Stella agonized over what to do with what she he had learned. The following day, she returned to the file room but found Bruce's dossier was gone. She assumed Bruce had stolen it and resolved that despite her love for him, she had to place her country first, just as her brothers had done. Stella went to Major Carraway's office to tell him what she knew when Herman Kautz burst in, declaring Bruce was a spy. When Bruce entered the office, Kautz drew a gun and tried to shoot him but Bruce had removed the bullet and knocked Kautz unconscious. Bruce then revealed to Stella that he was a counter-espionage agent sent to find the source of a leak in Major Carraway's office, which was Kautz all along. Bruce affirmed that he truly loved Stella and they reconciled.

Major Carraway was an Army intelligence officer who commanded the offices in Washington D.C. where dossiers on foreign agents were held. Herman Kautz, Stella Spencer and Bruce Felton all served under his command. Bruce Felton uncovered Herman Kautz as a Communist agent that had been leaking information from Major Carraway's office and captured Kautz in Major Carraway's office.

Bruce Felton

Captain Bruce Felton was a counter-espionage agent working for the U.S. government. Bruce claimed he had a "bum ticker" to explain why he hadn't joined the U.S. Army. Felton was assigned to discover where the leak of information in Major Carraway's office was coming from. Stella Spencer was assigned to guide Bruce around the office and he was immediately taken with her. Bruce and Stella started dating and she agreed to marry him but when she saw a fake file Major Carraway had created on Bruce in which his name was "Kurt Falson," she believed she had fallen in love with a Communist spy. Meanwhile, Herman Kautz, the source of the leak, saw the fake file and approached Bruce to recruit him as an ally. Realizing Bruce wasn't on his side, he attempted to denounce Bruce as a spy and shoot him in front of Major Carraway but Bruce had removed the bullets from his gun and easily knocked Kautz unconscious. Bruce revealed his true occupation to Stella and affirmed his love for her.

Herman Kautz

Herman Kautz was an employee of the U.S. government who served as the department head of the government's dossiers on foreign agents. Kautz was secretly working as an enemy agent for an unidentified Communist country. Kautz found the file Major Carraway created, which implicated Bruce Felton as a foreign agent. Taking the bait, he approached Bruce to recruit him as an ally. Realizing Bruce wasn't on his side, Kautz attempted to denounce him as a spy to Major Carraway and tried to shoot Bruce to death in Major Carraway's office but Bruce had removed the bullets from his gun and easily knocked out Kautz. Kautz was arrested.
