History:
(Daring Mystery Comics I#2/6) - J. P. Snead was targeted by the Vampire, who killed four of his silent partners in the Snead Oil Company. Next, the Vampire kidnapped J. P. Snead's daughter Betty and sent a $1 million ransom note to J. P. Snead. J. P. Snead decided to obey the Vampire's instructions and threw the ransom note into the fire.
When J. P. Snead met the Vampire and told him he was holding Betty in his base. J. P. Snead didn't believe him so the Vampire took him to where he was holding Betty. J. P. Snead agreed to sign over all of his holdings to the Vampire to spare Betty, but just after he signed the paper, the Vampire's enemy Mister E burst in through a window. As the Vampire and Mister E fought, J. P. Snead and Betty fled the building.
Later, J. P. Snead and Betty were visited by their friend Victor Jay and told him about their encounter with the Vampire and Mister E, unaware that Victor was Mister E.

J. P. Snead should not be confused with:
Betty Snead was J. P. Snead's daughter. The Vampire kidnapped Betty to use her as a pawn against her father and force him to sign over his company's holdings. Betty and J. P. were rescued from the Vampire by the timely arrival of Mister E.
