History: (Predator vs. Spider-Man#3 (fb) - BTS) - Belonging to no clan and adhering to no code, this Predator was detested and hunted by his fellow Yautja.
(Predator vs. Spider-Man#1 (fb) - BTS) - This Yautja arrived in New York City during a heat wave and started killing people indiscriminately, taking parts of their bodies and leaving skinned corpses behind. Believed to be a human serial killer, he was dubbed "the Skinner".
(Predator vs. Spider-Man#3 (fb) - BTS) - Skinner's targets included a nursing home in Harlem, the tiger habitat at the Bronx zoo, and a children's playground.
(Predator vs. Spider-Man#2 (fb) - BTS) - The Skinner set up a lair in the city sewers, where he arranged a display of his gruesome trophies.
(Predator vs. Spider-Man#1) - The Skinner attacked and killed a group of robbers, wearing the skinned face of one of his victims over his own face as a mask. The heatwave caused a blackout across the city, and the Skinner attacked a subway car that was stopped in its tracks.
(Predator vs. Spider-Man#2 - BTS) - A digital photo of one of the Skinner's crime scenes was uploaded online, triggering a hidden algorithm and causing a Yautja hunting party to be sent after him.
(Predator vs. Spider-Man#2) - The Skinner slaughtered most of the passengers in the car as well as the maintenance worker who came to check up on it. Mary Jane Watson and one other woman managed to get out and escape.
(Predator vs. Spider-Man#3) - The Skinner followed them and killed a homeless man but was unable to see the women beneath a swarm of rats, where the man had pushed the women to hide them from the Skinner.
(Predator vs. Spider-Man#4) - The women escaped from the sewers onto the surface, and the Skinner followed them, only to abandon the hunt when he smelled the plasma burner of a Yautja ship nearby. He rushed towards the scene and stabbed one of the Yautja hunters sent after him through the back. The Skinner then went towards the ship to destroy it and trap his hunters with him, only to be ambushed by Kraven the Hunter, who had been tracking the Skinner as someone worthy of the hunt. The two fought, and Kraven killed the Skinner by decapitating him.
(Predator vs. Spider-Man#4 - BTS) - The Skinner's death triggered a self-destruct countdown on the bomb inside his gauntlet, but Spider-Man appeared on the scene and quickly took the bomb over the water, preventing any casualties upon its detonation.
Comments: Created by Benjamin Percy and Marcelo Ferreira.Despite being the main antagonist of the series, the Skinner never actually faced Spider-Man himself. Spidey did get to fight other Predators though.
Benjamin Percy had stated on Twitter that he had originally written
Predator vs. Wolverine to be within Earth-616 continuity, but that the
series kept rolling on, and they eventually diverged from -616 with
the
mass slaughter of numerous heroes, etc.
When asked to
provide a designation for this reality, he initially responded "1987,"
as an homage to the year the first Predator movie came out. I don't
know whether he was aware that there already was an Earth-1987 from
Exiles I#69 (2005), but he later revealed that he had been joking
about
that designation.
