Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Silver Serpent was an enormous vehicle designed in the shape of a snake. The Silver Serpent was controlled from a module in the head of the vehicle with a large windshield. Like a snake, it had a body that could twist and coil. The 'mouth' of the Silver Serpent was lined with powerful 'teeth' that could dig through solid rock. Rock injested by the Silver Serpent could be expelled through an aperture in the vehicle's tail. Through this method, the Silver Serpent could tunnel underground.

History:
(Savage She-Hulk I#5 (fb) - BTS) - The Silver Serpent was designed by an unidentified corporation. When mobster Nicholas Trask saw the plans he stole the parts and assembled it so he could wield it against his enemies.
Nicholas Trask began targeting his rivals at the Roxxon Oil Corporation, using the Silver Serpent to tunnel underground into their oil wells and divert the oil into other locations. Trask intended to move all the oil from properties owned by Roxxon to properties he owned so that he could "discover" oil on his properties. When Roxxon executive Lou Monkton investigated the disappearance of his company's oil, Trask took him prisoner inside the cab of the Silver Serpent.
(Savage She-Hulk I#5) - In time, the She-Hulk investigated the Silver Serpent's attacks and fell into one of the underground tunnels the vehicle had created. Trask turned the Silver Serpent against the She-Hulk as a weapon, using the tail of the vehicle to fire boulders at her. Grabbing the vehicle's tail, She-Hulk cracked it like a whip, flinging the head of the vehicle into the side of a cavern wall. This caused damage to the vehicle and Trask opened the cab, despositing Monkton into a pool of oil and declaring She-Hulk couldn't both save Monkton and capture him. While She-Hulk saved Monkton, Trask used the Silver Serpent to tunnel away but discovered the controls had been damaged by She-Hulk's attack and were stuck in a single direction - down, towards the center of the Earth. With no way to stop the vehicle, Trask and the Silver Serpent were sent on course to implosion.

Considering the Silver Serpent operated like a giant earthworm, why wasn't it simply the Silver Worm?
