Powers/Abilities: Cyclops is a mutant with the
power to emit red beams of massive concussive force from his eyes.
He uses a special visor made of ruby-quartz to block and direct the beams, but is also capable of controlling them without it, presumably through a red-colored implant on the right side of his face.

History: (100th Anniversary Special: X-Men (fb) - BTS) - Scott Summers led the early life similar to that of his Earth-616 counterpart. He joined the X-Men, married Jean Grey who later died, and killed his father figure Professor Xavier while possessed by the Phoenix Force.
Cyclops became the leader of a band of mutant revolutionaries and for years was considered a public pariah and S.H.I.E.L.D.'s most wanted terrorist. This changed when they destroyed the black hole at the Brookhaven National Laboratory's Large Hadron Collider, saving the state of New York. The revolutionaries became national heroes, and the public opinion shifted towards the mutants.
Cyclops became the leader of the X-Men once more, fighting for the rights of not just the mutants, but all underprivileged citizens. He made peace with Wolverine, ending their long rivalry. Cyclops became the head of the Pro-Mutant Party and ran for the President in the 2060 election, winning both the electoral college and the popular vote.
(100th Anniversary Special: X-Men (fb)) - On January 21st of 2061, Scott Summers took the oath of office and was sworn in as the next President of the United States.
(100th Anniversary Special: X-Men (fb) - BTS) - After the inauguration, Scott Summers married his longtime lover Emma Frost.
(100th Anniversary Special: X-Men (fb)) - At the private inauguration party at the White House, Scott and Emma Summers were both congratulated by Sebastian Shaw. The President pressed Shaw about the Hellfire Club which continued to oppose his agenda, but Shaw replied that he had resigned months ago and had no love for the Hellfire Club's new leadership. Anti-mutant protesters outside the White House started becoming violent, and the President ordered his security to pacify them with any force necessary.
(100th Anniversary Special: X-Men) - Troubled by the rioters, Cyclops stayed awake until 2 AM of January 22nd, when Emma Frost used her mutant powers to help him sleep. While her husband slept, Emma was removed from existence by the Phoenix, with every evidence of her erased, except for Scott's own memories.
The protesters began storming the White House. Cyclops was woken by up Shadowcat, Beast and the Cuckoos, and he found Emma gone, believing her kidnapped. Realizing that no one else, including Emma's own daughters, had any memories of her, Cyclops assumed that the kidnappers had employed a memory wipe. Despite Beast's objections, he went to face the protesters on the White House lawn, addressing them through a loudspeaker. A man in the crowd pulled a gun and fired it; the X-Men were unable to stop the bullet from hitting the President in the chest. As he fell, Cyclops lost control of his optic blasts, which severely injured several protesters.
The wounded President was moved to a secret bunker beneath the White House, while the footage of him attacking the protesters quickly spread, prompting worldwide condemnation and undoing his progress towards peace. Cyclops insisted on finding Emma and asked the Cuckoos to search for an Omega-level telepath. Someone capable of performing the mind wipe could also be hiding from Cerebro, so Shadowcat and Beast went to check Professor X's Lockbox Program, which took annual genetic and psionic snapshots of every mutant in America. While comparing the data, Beast noted a tremendous loss of mutant and human life spreading expotentially, before the X-Men blinked out of existence.
Cyclops found himself in the White Hot Room, home of the Phoenix. Appearing as Jean, the Phoenix told Scott that the world was not ready for his presidency and that it would bring disaster, a vision of which she had shown to him. Having removed the X-Men from space-time, the Phoenix used their combined life force to alter the past for the possibility of a better future (see comments). Guiding Scott's hand, the Phoenix told him that he would not remember this life he had but would have his heart's desire. In the new reality, years in the past, Scott and Jean celebrated their anniversary with their friends.
Comments: Created by Robin Furth and Jason Masters.Like all 100th Anniversary Specials, this issue was presented as taking place in the middle of the "ongoing" storyline supposedly published by Marvel in the year 2061 A.D. Because of the Sliding Timescale, Cyclops and the other X-Men are depicted as only a few years older than they were at the time of the publication in 2014.
The Lockbox Program of Professor X taking regular generic and psionic imprints of every mutant is the precursor to the primatry function of the Cerebro, as revealed in House of X#5 and leading to the Krakoan resurrections.
The new reality that replaced
Cyclops' presidency only appears in a single panel and is shown in the
relative past. It is presented as a more "idyllic" version of both the
2061 reality and then-current Earth-616, with Jean Grey and Charles
Xavier no longer among the deceased. Both of them have since come back
to life in the Prime Marvel Universe, so the new reality could
potentially be Earth-616, or a similar version of it.
I see the future of President Summers as an
alternate reality that was glimpsed by Cyclops-616. Despite what
writers try to show, realities are typically not erased or prevented,
but rather just diverged.
Cyclops' physical characteristics are taken from his Earth-616 counterpart.
