Powers/Abilities: Sclater was apparently highly
skilled in military strategy and armed and unarmed combat. He carried
some sort of handgun, and he was able to lead a military crew on an
interstellar mission intended to capture a powerful mecha.
Kray noted that he was "a bit weird but
you expect that with the best people."

enlist the mercenary Sclater to travel to lead an interstellar
expedition to the planet Zoidstar.
Zoids (ゾ イド, Zoido) is a Japanese science fiction media franchise owned by Tomy that features mecha called Zoids, with designs being based on animals including dinosaurs, mammals, insects, arachnids and mythological creatures. The franchise started as a line of plastic model kits and includes multiple anime series as well as video game and comic adaptations.
Model kits
Zoids model kits depict robotic creatures and are typically motorized and able to move once constructed. The first Zoids toys were released in Japan in 1983 by Takara. They began as simple model kits and later releases increased in complexity. The brand was acquired by Tomy in the 2000s, and Zoids products from Tomy began implementing more complex motorized mechanisms, lights, and sound effects. Zoids model kits range in complexity to appeal to hobbyists with different skill levels.
Media
The Zoids franchise has seen multiple adaptations in media such as anime, video games, comics, and manga. The first anime series was Zoids: Chaotic Century, which was followed by Zoids: New Century, Zoids: Fuzors, Zoids: Genesis, Zoids Wild, and Zoids Wild Zero. Zoids was adapted in the 1980s into a series of comics written by Grant Morrison and published by Marvel Comics. There have also been multiple Zoids video games.

The issue is Zoids Monthly#1. It never actually came out. Per The First 6 Pages of Grant Morrison and Steve Yeowell's Zoids:
One upon a time, a long time, ago, Grant Morrison wrote the Zoids comic book strip for British publishing spinoff Marvel UK, based on the wind-up modular toyline. Appearing as a back-up strip in the Secret Wars weekly Marvel UK title, it later took the co-lead in the Spider-Man And Zoids weekly comic book. The strip was then cancelled as the toys hadn't taken off like Transformers had. The comic told a tale of warring robots on a planet, with crash-landed humans trying to survive, and work out what was going on with the planet. We got a combination of Aliens, Transformers and Doctor Who.
But there
was more. Before the cancellation, it was planned for Zoids to go solo in
q US-format series with Morrison and Steve Yeowell, and a
full issue was created, but it got dropped after the first issue was
written and pencilled; half the issue was inked and lettered. Scripts had
been done for the next two issues as well. During lockdown Richard
Starkings, who was lettering the issue and still had the script and
pencilled pages, finished lettering the last 11 pages and posted the
entire issue on Twitter/X. So there's no chance Sclater has appeared
anywhere else, outside of the two unreleased scripts for Zoids#2 and
3.
Earth-85126 Imperialistic Zoidaryans developed mechanized animal-like Zoids — mecha initially operated by Zoidaryans and later androids — to fight battles for them. Zoids progressively evolved and eventually wiped out Zoidaryans except Namer. Terrestrial Cybersol corporation sent humans to investigate Zoids. Spider-Man (Marvel UK) #620 (1985)
