History:
(Mantus Files#2 (fb) - BTS) - Jasmine Quaid traveled the world with her father, Adam. While he was taking photographs, she was learning about her psychic abilities from priests and shamans.

    Jasmine opened her store, Jasmin's Visions, in New Orleans, where she worked as a psychic.

    Supernatural expert Peter Mantus apparently visited Jasmine and asked her questions at some point.

(Mantus Files#2 (fb) - BTS) - Fleeing a group of vampire-posers (including Dan Chance), Adam Quaid joined up with supernatural expert Peter Mantus, who was investigating his missing friend, Raymond Ever, as well as Tammara Rhodes' missing daughter, Angel. After encountering demon-creatures in a cemetery, Adam led Peter and Tammara to meet up with his daughter.

(Mantus Files#2) - Recalling Mantus' visit and having sensed a great evil, Jasmine confirmed her suspicions via tarot cards. She told Mantus that she feared that someone was trying to unlock the door to Hell, which would allow Exterminus the Guardian of the Abyss to unleash the dragon that dwelled there; and in the wake of the dragon would come famine, disaster and great evil.

    After Mantus showed her symbols and the name Secarus that he had seen in the cemetery in which they had encountered the demons as well as in a hotel where a man had set a woman on fire. Having seen the symbol before, Jasmine consulted some texts and confirmed it to be the symbol of the Priests of Bel. Jasmine concluded that the man who had burned the woman was a priest of Bel and that he was trying to shut the door to prevent the dragon's release, which they considered must be horrible if he was afraid of it. They resolved to find and stop Secarus.

(Mantus Files#3 - BTS) -After further investigation, Adam split up from Mantus and Tammara and went back to see his daughter.

(Mantus Files#3 (fb) - BTS) - Jasmin was consulted by a man who had lost a few friends to Secarus and who shared the location of his mansion in the French Quarter.
   

(Mantus Files#4) - Jasmin waited impatiently in her father's living room with her father, Mantus and Tammara, hoping that Detective Ferris Jackson could get a court order to investigate Secarus' mansion.

    Sent by Secarus to prevent Mantus' interference, the vampire-posers broke into Adam's house and challenged the group. When Dan Chance grabbed Jasmin from behind, she mocked him as "Count Halitosis" and flipped him over her back. The others took out various other posers. Under threat from Mantus, Chance revealed that Secarus had Mantus' friend Raymond and that that night was the big ritual. Mantus told Tammara to call Det. Jackson and tell him to meet them at Secarus' mansion, and Adam Quaid told Jasmin to stay there and watch over the captive Dan Chance.

    Jasmin was present with Tammara as Mantus and Adam -- having foiled Secarus -- returned with Tammara's daughter, Angel.

    As Mantus headed out, Jasmine asked if he would stay for a while, but he told her that he was technically on a promotional tour.

    She was called "Jasmine" in #2 and #4, but her shop was clearly called Jasmin's Visions in #3. Her dad just called her "Jas."

    Although the black and white pictures don't make it clear, taking into account the appearance of her father, Jasmine appeared to be African descent or "black," brown, etc.

Per the blurb: Peter Mantus, a supernatural expert, is recruited to help solve the mystery of bodies that keep turning up in New Orleans that seem to have been a part of a supernatural ritual, possibly human sacrifices. Mantus suspects demons are involved.

and a slightly longer summary:

    Following the harrowing news that a close friend is missing, Peter Mantus urgently travels to New Orleans to attempt to assist in locating him. While investigating a body that may be his missing friend, Peter, a renowned expert in the supernatural and ritual killings, discovers that his friend's situation isn't an isolated incident, as a rash of disappearances and dead bodies that are little more than burnt husks seem to have descended upon the city. Peter fears this trail of brutally burnt bodies points heavily to dark ritual human sacrifices. While continuing his own investigation, Peter is approached by a grieving mother desperately looking for answers and her own missing daughter. Because of his vast experience in cases such as this, Peter Mantus feels strongly that demonic spiritual entities are responsible for this horror and he focuses his search into discovering the identity of the individual responsible for summoning the dark forces and putting an end to this chaos before the city, and perhaps the world, is engulfed in the released darkness.

The author of the series, horror novelist Sidney Williams, has a website Comics | Sid is Alive and there he summarizes the series:

    Peter Mantus is the child of a sorcerer. Saved from his father’s efforts to sacrifice him to demons, he has become an investigator of the arcane. When the man who saved him from his father’s intentions disappears, he heads to New Orleans to unravel the mystery behind his disappearance and others.

    It seemed to me as if Jasmine was trying to convince Mantus to stay with her.
