History:
(Sherry the Showgirl I#1/3) - After an evening's work at the Silver Slipper nightclub, Rolly left the Silver Slipper with Sherry Storm (a showgirl) and Steve Saxon (the club's band leader). Sherry and Steve asked if he'd like to join them in a hamburger but Rolly joked they'd never fit and parted ways.
(Sherry the Showgirl I#1/9) - At the Silver Slipper, Rolly asked Sherry and the club's costume lady Ma Dugan if they'd like a lift. When Sherry pointed out he didn't own a car, Rolly replied he meant a piggyback ride, claiming it was a joke he would use in his show the following evening.
(Sherry the Showgirl I#2/9) - Sherry informed Rolly and other performers at the Silver Slipper that their wealthy friend Daddy Goldplate had invited them to a party he was throwing at his El Swanko penthouse. Rolly joked to Sherry's rival Hazel Hale that Goldplate must be very strong to "throw" a party. Rolly stopped a taxi outside the club and told the driver to go to El Swanko, but the driver left before Rolly could get into the cab. When Rolly finally got to the penthouse, Goldplate invited everyone to treat his home as their own. Rolly reacted by eating directly out of Goldplate's fridge. Later, Rolly observed as Mr. Goldplate paid a thousand dollars to a robber, mistaking him for an actor he'd hired to impersonate a robber.
(Sherry the Showgirl I#3) - Rolly teased the club's star vocalist Tony Torrid when he bragged about his chance to impress a talent agent. Later, when Hazel turned down a chance to play the sister of Frankenstein's Monster's bride in a movie, Rolly joked she didn't get the part because she wasn't good-looking enough.
(Sherry the Showgirl I#3/9) - After the showgirls finished a dancing number, Rolly went on stage for his stand-up routine.
(Sherry the Showgirl I#6/8) - When Sherry was a guest on Fred Borrow's television program 'People to People,' appearing in a broadcast sent live from the Silver Slipper, Rolly walked in on the broadcast. Sherry introduced him to Fred Borrow and when Rolly realized he was on television he immediately went into his stand-up act, which Mr. Borrow didn't want. The broadcast was abruptly terminated when the club's janitor Mr. Zbrmsky accidentally unplugged the camera. Rolly joked that the cameras were "fighting back." The next day, Rolly, Steve and Nick Brant showed Sherry how her appearance on Mr. Borrow's show had earned her rave reviews, although Mr. Borrow was exasperated and gave up 'People to People' to host a 'Ziggy Pig' show instead.
(Sherry the Showgirl I#7/2) - Feeling blue, Rolly told Sherry he was going to see a psychiatrist. Sherry told him when she felt blue, she bought a new hat. Rolly handed his psychiatrist's card to her, saying she needed his help more than he.
