History:

(The Ultimate Silver Surfer novel: A Game of the Apocalypse) - Nahl 3 was a primitive world covered by mountains and dense forests, and inhabited by furry humanoids organized into tribes with a rigid caste system.

(The Ultimate Silver Surfer novel: A Game of the Apocalypse (fb) - BTS) - Seeking to present a world suitable for consumption by his master Galactus, the herald Morg (displeased with co-herald Air-Walker's tendency to steer the Worldship toward uninhabited worlds) arrived on Nahl 3 posing as the local deity Cirremon. From a tabernacle on Mount T'hurein, he manipulated the native religious leaders to incite a chaotic global war. Using a holographic map, Morg issued divine decrees through High Evangel Moss and her Field Evangels, inciting brutal massacres and erratic shifts in alliances. This allowed him to justify to Galactus that the planet was already on a path of irreversible self-destruction, and that its consumption would be an act of mercy.

(The Ultimate Silver Surfer novel: A Game of the Apocalypse) - Having detected the chaos on Nahl 3, the Silver Surfer arrived on the planet to investigate. He intercepted Linnel Jen, a guilt-ridden young native assassin, and, after impressing the locals with his powers, forced the religious authorities (including Field Evangel Liss Tavah) to guide him to Mount T'hurein to confront Moss and Cirremon, while Morg simultaneously summoned Galactus' Worldship. In the tabernacle, the Surfer destroyed the holographic map and exposed Morg, who shamelessly admitted his plan to use his worshippers (including Jen, Moss, and Tavah, who were present) to contribute to the planet's destruction. As the arrival of Galactus' Worldship caused global earthquakes, Morg fought the Surfer to prevent him from halting his plan, but the Surfer managed to temporarily knock Morg unconscious and bury him under rubble.

Knowing that Galactus would not consume Nahl 3 without first finding Morg, the Surfer devised a plan: The Surfer named Jen the new god of Nahl 3, placing him on the throne of Cirremon and having the priests worship him. When Galactus projected himself onto T'hurein to demand answers, and with Morg already awakening, the Surfer claimed that the supposedly divine Jen possessed the power of redemption and healing on a planetary scale. Amused by this optimistic fantasy of the Surfer he'd like to shatter, Galactus accepted a wager: Galactus would satiate his hunger on a nearby uninhabited world discovered by Air-Walker, thus giving the inhabitants of Nahl 3 time to end the war and chaos. If the natives proved Morg wrong about their irreversible self-destruction, Galactus would spare the planet; otherwise, he would then devour Nahl 3, with the Surfer as witness. Neither Morg nor the Surfer were to interfere. Galactus and Morg left.

Jen assumed leadership, issuing a global decree through the network of priests to cease all hostilities and begin the planet's recovery, intending to abdicate once peace was restored. Jen stipulated that, if peace was achieved, the Surfer should return to destroy the throne room on Mount T'hurein, allowing Jen to resume a humble life and the planet to be free of an absolute ruler.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Nahl 3 has no known connections to

Aroyu

A warrior society and dominant tribe on the planet Nahl 3, characterized by a strict caste system.

Historically prone to skirmishes over hunting grounds, the Aroyu abandoned their recent feuds under the leadership of a charismatic priest who unified them in a "holy war" in the name of the god Cirremon (actually the Galactus-herald
Morg posing as Cirremon). Valuing knife skill and stealth above wealth, their military forces, led by Field Evangels like Liss Tavah, carried out brutal massacres against neighboring tribes, including the burning of villages. They blindly followed the contradictory and sadistic decrees of High Evangel Moss from her tabernacle, switching from allies to enemies overnight in a global genocide campaign orchestrated by Morg to prepare the planet for Galactus' consumption.

Erais

Erais was a village on the planet Nahl 3 known for its forges.

During the holy war incited by the religion of Cirremon
(actually the Galactus-herald Morg posing as Cirremon), forces under Field Evangel Rashiss launched an attack against its inhabitants. Rashiss later reported to the Mount T'hurein tabernacle that the resistance of the Erais villagers had been greater than anticipated, resulting in the loss of many "holy lives." However, the report concluded that, with Cirremon's blessing, they had managed to seize their forges and sanctify the soil with the blood of the defeated. In response to this report, his superior High Evangel Moss decreed that Rashiss' forces should turn east to continue the extermination campaign elsewhere.

Hierae

A village neighboring Tinalss on the planet Nahl 3. During the holy war incited by the religion of Cirremon (actually the Galactus-herald Morg posing as Cirremon), Field Evangel Darrah reported to High Evangel Moss that his forces were making little military progress against the "blasphemers" of Tinalss. In response, Moss decreed that the "spirit of Cirremon" be imparted to the inhabitants of Hierae to use them as temporary allies in order to defeat Tinalss. However, Moss' same decree stipulated that, because "the blood of the wicked flows" in the veins of the Hierae people, they were to be massacred immediately by the Aroyu forces as soon as they had fulfilled their purpose of eliminating the Tinalss.

Moriya

A peaceful tribe that inhabited a village located a day's journey east of Linnel Jen's village in Nahl 3, although Jen himself was also a member of the Moriya. They lived in family lodges and storehouses, dedicated to hunting and communal living, without participating in the region's recent wars.

They were falsely labeled the "godless enemy" by the Aroyu priest who recruited Linnel Jen. As a result, the Moriya village was infiltrated and subjected to an indiscriminate massacre by Aroyu forces. Its inhabitants were brutally murdered in their homes, and the village was burned to the ground, the invading forces achieving their goal of completely extinguishing the Moriya lineage after two and a half days looking for survivors.

Mount T'hurein

Mount T'hurein was the most prominent geographical feature on the planet Nahl 3 and served as the spiritual and administrative center of Cirremon's religion. At its summit stood a vast tabernacle carved directly into the solid rock, characterized by stylized white columns and a polished rock floor etched with a large holographic map of the world.

This sanctuary was the residence of High Evangel Moss, who directed the global holy war from there, moving markers on the map to dictate divine decrees and extermination campaigns according to Cirremon's will. The architecture of the site included a throne of grotesque ornamentation at the very center of the cavern.

The Silver Surfer, accompanied by the assassin Linnel Jen and the Field Evangel Liss Tavah, stormed into this tabernacle searching for Cirremon. The Surfer destroyed the map with a beam of cosmic energy and confronted the false god Cirremon (revealed to be Morg), but could not prevent the arrival of Galactus' Worldship, which caused earthquakes across the planet. The Surfer knocked Morg unconscious and had Jen sit on the throne, declaring that Jen was the new god of Nahl 3 who could lead the planet to redemption. Galactus agreed to give Nahl 3 a chance to prove they could turn away from self-destruction under Jen's leadership, who was already worshipped by Tavah and Moss. Jen took command of the planet from the throne, initiating a peaceful reign, but decided that if they could end the conflict and appease Galactus, the Surfer should destroy the throne.

Quetast

Quetast was a village located in the eastern region of the planet Nahl 3. Following Field Evangel Rashiss' reported victory over the village of Erais, his superior, High Evangel Moss, issued a new decree from the tabernacle. The decree stipulated that Rashiss' forces should march eastward, arguing that the inhabitants of Quetast "profaned the word of Cirremon by their very presence," thus ordering Quetast's destruction.

--The Ultimate Silver Surfer novel: A Game of the Apocalypse (1995)

Tinalss

Tinalss was a village on the planet Nahl 3 whose inhabitants were labeled "blasphemous" by the religious hierarchy.

During the holy war, Field Evangel Darrah reported to High Evangel Moss that his forces had made little military progress against them. In response to this stalemate, Moss approved Darrah's "wisdom" in seeking a temporary alliance with the neighboring village of Hierae, in order to use its inhabitants as cannon fodder against Tinalss. However, Moss's own decree stipulated the treacherous condition that, once the people of Hierae had helped eliminate those of Tinalss, the inhabitants of Hierae themselves were to be immediately massacred for having "impious blood."
