History:
(The Bozz Chronicles#1 (fb) - BTS) - Coming from some of the oldest, richest families in all of England, group that would become known as the Hand of Four banded together to see that they remained that way, by alleviating morgan-giles-bozz1-pg14-pan5-upper the worrisome growth of influence amongst the "annoying middle class."

Through it, they sponsored the work of Dr. Pretorius, who designed machines able to work wonders with electromagnetic fields, most specifically to accomplish resurrection.

(The Bozz Chronicles#1 (fb) - BTS) - The Hand of Four saw in Giles, Lord Morgan a potential for public office and an ability to manipulate emotions. In exchange for his image and political talents, they offered him virtual immortality

(The Bozz Chronicles#1 (fb) - BTS) <Three years ago> - Long before he came to public prominence, Giles contracted a rare disease from which he died. His death certificate was stamped with the symbol of the Hand of Four.

Noting the unique symbol on the death certificate, "Boswell" (aka Bozz, an extraterrestrial needing entertainment to avoid suicidal ennui) accepted the case.

(The Bozz Chronicles#1) - As Pamela headed back to Lord Morgan's estate to replace the document before anyone noticed it was missing, Giles watched from within a horse-drawn carriage.

(The Bozz Chronicles#1) - Bozz and Mandy Flynn visited Lord Morgan at his estate, claiming to be from the London Posh Gazette, doing a piece on nobles at home; "Boswell" was explained as a simple but skilled photographer. Giles greeted the pair, noting pleasure at meeting such a charming young woman, but informed her that he had no knowledge of a press interview that morning. When she told him that Miss Grieves had said they could just drop on by, he accepted this, noting that Miss Grieves had been feeling unwell of late. As Giles offered Mandy a brandy, Bozz conversed with his pet bird. Giles continued trying to impress Mandy with his power and wealth, noting that when he became prime minister, he may well find a place for her, int his back room, of course. When Many replied that her paper had a place for him in the obituaries, however, he angrily declared the interview to be over. After they departed, Bozz revealed that the bird had told him that several file cabinets had been removed from the estate the day before and taken to End Cross Road.

(The Bozz Chronicles#1 (fb) - BTS) - Lord Morgan told his Hand of Four associates, including Mr. Peebles, about the attractive journalist and mountainous photographer who had visited him.

(The Bozz Chronicles#1 - BTS) - The next day, considering the bolt that had slain Pamela Grieves, Bozz led Mandy to End Cross Road with a dousing rod that would assist Bozz's enhanced sensory abilities in detecting unusual electrical activities. Drawn to a warehouse with a disturbing electrical flow, Bozz levitated himself and Mandy into an opening in the upper part of the building, but they were discovered and brought to the ground level at gunpoint. Mr. Peebles swiftly recognized the pair as those Giles had described, and -- impressed with her spunk -- explained their organization and shared that Dr. Pretorius' machines could used to simulate lightning in controlled fashion; he confirmed that it had been necessary to use this to slay Miss Grieves to ensure the secrecy of their organization. Dr. Pretorius subsequently used his device to immobilize Bozz.

Escaping, Mandy enlisted the aid of local brawler Salem "Madman" Hawkshaw.

(The Bozz Chronicles#1 - BTS) - Madman punched out the doorman, allowing him and Mandy to access the warehouse.

(The Bozz Chronicles#1) - Confronting the contained Bozz, Lord Morgan assured him that they would soon recapture his associate, and he taunted Bozz with the true power of money. Relating the origins of the Hand of Four, his association with them and their power of resurrection, Giles stated that he was the figurative thumb that made the Hand of Four work.

    Mr. Peebles continued that, once installed as prime minister, Lord Morgan would advise the queen (Victoria) as they saw fit: Strongly against the unionization efforts and the vote of the cities; he would ensure that the Hand of Four's power would remain undiminished forever.

    At Mandy's request, Madman lassoed the switch powering Dr. Pretorius' machine, after which Bozz swiftly examined the mechanism and used his dousing rod to overload, unleashing dangerous energies.

    As Dr. Pretorius tried to save his machine, Giles warned him that "there's enough current there to fry a Clydesdale!" Considering that if Pretorius died that there would be no one to resurrect him, Giles grabbed him to pull him away, but as Pretorius touched the machine, both men were electrocuted and apparently destroyed in the ensuing explosion.

As far as I can tell, there is nothing in the Bozz Chronicles to contradict it being part of the history of Earth-616. We have numerous creator-owned characters with established histories on Earth-616, including Kull, Conan, Tarzan, Sherlock Holmes, Doc Savage, James Bond, etc., so just being creator-owned is certainly no contradiction.
It's a very fun series, highly recommended!

Lord Morgan or Lord Giles Morgan

Having learned this from our own Loki, I believe that Giles Morgan would (in most situations) correctly be referred to as Lord Morgan or Giles, Lord Morgan.
The only ways he would be Lord Giles Morgan would be if he were

The eldest son of a still-living Duke or Marquess.

He seems to be too old to have a still-living father, but it is possible
The title would also be true if he were the eldest son of a still-living Prince, although that would not be likely if they were trying to follow real world history.

The younger son of a Duke or Marquess who was still alive (or whose eldest son (or that son's children/descendants) were still alive).

For the elder son of a Duke, upon his father's death, he would typically become the new Duke, and he would be called Duke and not Lord.
For the elder son of a Marquess, upon his father's death, he would become the new Marquess and would be called Lord Morgan, not Lord Giles Morgan.
For the second oldest son of a Marquess, he would remain Lord Giles Morgan regardless of whether his father was alive, as long as his older brother (or his descendants) was still alive.

If the older brother died, the title would go to that brother's oldest son or his younger son, descendants, etc.
However, if the older brother died with no living children or descendants, the title would go to the younger brother, who would then be Lord Morgan (not Lord Giles Morgan again)

    This is commonly used incorrectly in many sources these days, but a Victorian-era newspaper should really know better and would use the proper terminology.
    So, if "Lord Giles Morgan" is used correctly, than Giles was most likely the younger son of a Duke or Marquess with the title having gone to his brother or his brother's descendants.
    If Lord Giles Morgan is correct, then Lord Giles is appropriate, as well.
