History:
(Teen Comics I#32/2 (fb) - BTS) - J. P. Lumpkin was a wealthy eccentric with so much money he didn't pay income tax, he simply asked the U.S. Government how much money they needed. J. P. bought a business which had belonged to Mr. Jones. Mr. Jones then decided he didn't want to sell the business after all, and J. P. sent a telegram to his new employee John Smith to let him know he was coming for a weekend visit so he could return the key to Mr. Smith.
(Teen Comics I#32/2) - J. P. Lumpkin had the Fenwick Fumigating Firm sent to the Smith household so they could fumigate the house for him. J. P. Lumpkin brusquely introduced himself to the Smith family and presented John's wife Mary with a list of the food he wanted to eat and how he wanted it cooked.
When Chuck Rivers telephoned the Smiths to speak with their daughter Cindy, J. P. grabbed the telephone and told Chuck to call some other time, then hung up. J. P. tried to remember what he'd come to tell John Smith but couldn't recall. He ordered everyone in the house to go to sleep because he was tired.
That evening, Chuck Rivers came by the house to see Cindy and spoke to her from below her window. Irritated, J. P. took a bucket of water and dumped it on Chuck's head, then informed her to stop wasting time on "ordinary boys" because his son would be calling on her the next day.
The next day, while Junior tried to romance Cindy, J. P. suddenly remembered he'd come to John's house to tell him - that Mr. Jones had withdrawn from the sale and he'd come to give John Smith the key to the business. Thrilled by this news, John forcibly kicked J. P. out of his house, then kicked out Junior.

It's a good rule of thumb that Stan Lee only wrote stories he signed his name to, but the use of the name "Lumpkin" for this character suggests he could have written this story (also it was published at a time when signatures were discouraged at Marvel).

J. P. Lumpkin Jr. was sent by his father to romance Cindy Smith. Like his father, he was spoiled and extravagant in his use of money. He first paid a man to deliver flowers to Cindy, then hired the violinist Mischa to serenade her. When Cindy saw Junior she was put off by his appearance but felt she had to humor him because his father might retaliate against her father. When her boyfriend Chuck Rivers came by, Cindy quickly sent him out of the house. Junior simply wanted to play a game of chess with Cindy. When John Smith learned J. P. Lumpkin wasn't his boss after all, Cindy smashed the chessboard over Junior's head and her father kicked both Lumpkins out of the house.
