Amused with Casanova's romantic
exploits, Lucas was happy to do whatever was asked of him to facilitate
further romances and/or to get Casanova out of trouble.
History:
(Casanova#3 - BTS) - At age 20, Lucas was a servant to Casanova.
(Casanova#3) - Lucas accompanied him to
Switzerland, where they stopped at a small village and rented a pair of
rooms. Casanova was intrigued by the arrival of a beautiful blonde woman
and asked Lucas to find out about her. Having already learned or finding
out subsequent to the request, Lucas shared that the woman was named Anna,
that she was married to a nobleman from the high society of Lucerne, that
she was traveling with her friend Agnes (a widow who was lame (presumably
literally)) and that they were bound for Zurich.
Casanova complimented Lucas, calling him a rogue but noting that he did not know what he would do without him. Wishing to get into Anna's room, Casanova instructed Lucas to coordinate with the innkeeper to allow him (Casanova) to pose as a servant from the inn and serve her dinner. Lucas noted this to be difficult, but assured Casanova that he would do his best.
(Casanova#3 (fb) - BTS) - Lucas coordinated this situation for Casanova.
(Casanova#3 - BTS) - Via the above plot, Casanova
established a romance with Anna.
(Casanova#3) - After returning to his room, Casanova told Lucas that the next day they would leave for Zurich, and Lucas was pleased, appreciate that they were going to the same place as the ladies.
(Casanova#4 - BTS) - In Zurich, Casanova met with the French Ambassador who enjoyed his story and arranged a dinner meeting with Anna and her husband, which Agnes also attended.
Recognizing Casanova as the seeming servant at the
inn, Agnes accused him of being an impostor whom she was going to expose.
Casanova convinced her to hold off by telling her he had done it to be
with her.
(Casanova#4) - As part of a plot to avoid Agnes,
Casanova took Lucas with him as he traveled to the Ambassador's unoccupied
house outside the city to which he would invite Anna. As the beautiful
house-keeper checked them in, Lucas appreciated that is Casanova was not
currently occupied with Anna, this woman would not be just the
house-keeper.
(Casanova#4 - BTS) - When Casanova invited Anna and
her husband out to countryside, Agnes accompanied them, vowing revenge for
both Casanova and Anna for their deceit.
Agnes subsequently hid in Anna's dark room when
Casanova went there to rendezvous with Anna, and she duped him into having
sex with her.
Meeting up and romancing the real Anna, Casanova
realized he had been tricked, and Anna feared that Agnes would tell her
husband.
(Casanova#4) - When Casanova discussed the matter with him, Lucas noted how easy it was to be confused in the dark, which might be used to resolve the situation.
Lucas subsequently met with the coach-driver in the
place where Agnes took his daily stroll, and Lucas told him over his
romance with Agnes the previous night. Overhearing this, Agnes believed
she had been the one tricked, and that she had instead had sex with
Casanova's servant. Casanova was very pleased when Lucas shared the
success of his mission.
(Casanova#4 - BTS) - Finding Agnes packing to
return to her home, Casanova suggested that he could send his servant to
help her, as he was really good at packing, which mortified Agnes.

The Malibu series is based on the real life Giacomo Casanova, a
Venetian writer and adventurer who traveled around Europe and was
reputed to be a great womanizer/lover, though how much of that was
genuine and how much was due to his own posthumously published
autobiography, which might well have embellished things, is something I
can't say.
The Malibu series is a reprint of a Dalger Press
series - it's listed on comics.org as
a
Swedish publication, but since Sweden's not exactly known as one the
major European comic producers (unlike Belgium or Italy) I wonder if
that was a reprint too, or if Dalger published in multiple countries
(similar to Panini). The writer/artist is credited as Ricard, but I've
been unable to figure out a full name - there are a few artists
with Ricard as part of their name, but none that seem to be this one.
Malibu's Casanova was published by their
Aircel imprint, and is effectively softcore porn - there was a brief
surge of U.S. indy titles around this time that went that route.
Because they are reprints, the Casanova stories are almost
all two parters, very obviously splitting the larger single issues of
the originals into two smaller ones.
While this story was Malibu prior
to Marvel buying them out, I don't see any reason that the story can't be
Earth-616.
Loki further added:
Casanova's a real world historical figure, so there's a risk someone
might choose to use him down the line in a way that prevents this
version being the 616 one, but we can cross that bridge if and when we
come to it.
For what it's worth, Casanova shows up in Crazy#3
(1953), but that's a living waxwork in a comedy story that's likely not
616 anyway. Reprinted in Crazy Magazine#79. Apart from that, we've only
got people name-checking him it seems when a character in their presence
acts romantic, licentious, etc. I wouldn't rule out the possibility that
he's shown up in one of Marvel's old romance or suspense anthologies
though, as they remain only sporadically indexed.
If you want a fun, though likely not very historically
accurate, depiction of Casanova's life, check out the BBC miniseries of
that name from 2004, starring a (just) pre-Doctor Who David Tennant. And
if you want a funnier version, then there's always the version from
Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels, the world's second greatest (BUT HE
TRIES HARDER) lover, the dwarf Casanunda.
