LOTHARIAN race

    the Broker was an enemy of Onyx specifically, but not necessarily to the Lotharians

First Appearance: (Onyx seen and identified) Force Works#15 (September, 1995);
    (Lothar identified, unseen) Century: Distant Sons#1 (February, 1996)

Powers/Abilities: Assuming Onyx is representative of his race, Lotharians are large and strong beings with rough and presumably thick and durable hide, although Onyx was pained by punching U.S. Agent's energy shield.

    Onyx appeared to have enhanced human strength, perhaps lifting 1000 lbs.

Traits: Onyx, at least was very sensitive and emotion, although he could be violent and savage in battle (especially when controlled by the Broker)

    Onyx used Klakk as a presumed expletive, "I'll smash your klakking head off!!"

Type:  Bilaterally symmetric semi-humanoid bipeds
Eyes: Two (on head; Onyx's eyes were shown as both solid red and solid black; they may or may not have some sort of opaque membrane, and their eye color may or may not vary with their emotion states)
Fingers: Three (plus opposing thumb)
Toes: Three
Skin color: Tan or light brown (seen)
Average height: Approximately 7' or taller
Other Distinguishing Features: Rough, irregular skin, no visible external nasal structure

History:
(Century: Distant Sons#1 (fb) - BTS) - At an unrevealed point in the past, Onyx of Lothar was enslaved by Broker via Tyrmean brain-stem parasites and became a valued member of the Bodyguard Cadre thanks to his natural strength and durability.

(Force Works#13-14 - BTS) - Onyx was on board during Broker's attacks on Captain Kkon and the destruction of Arabellum.

(Force Works#15) - Onyx was among the slaves that attacked the Works and captured its residents. He found U.S. Agent in the Chaos Vault and attacked him. U.S. Agent was able to escape him by hurting Onyx's hand with his photon-shield. Later Onyx brought the Works' residents with other Bodyguard Cadre members down to Earth. He turned against Broker when he had lost control over the slaves, but Century convinced him that they still needed Broker. Onyx worked on the bridge when Broker's spaceship left Earth.

(Force Works#16 - BTS) - Onyx was on board during the journey to return those Broker had enslaved to their homeworlds.

(Century: Distant Sons#1) - Onyx was happy for Kiwi when he was returned to his home, the Roost, and h began to cry when Century told him that they would return Onyx next to his homeworld, Lothar.

    Onyx fell under Broker's control again through a parasite placed by Slug on his neck and overpowered Century for Broker.

    After Slug sacrificed himself to free the others from Broker's control, Onyx informed Skewer, allowing the others to rebel him. 

    Century subsequently slew Broker, and Onyx and the others presumably resumed their journey himself and his allies to their homeworlds.

    Technically, the planet was called Lothar, and I don't think the race was named in-story. Lotharians works well until proven otherwise...
