Real Name: Unrevealed

    presumably a group of Lawbringers

Known Relatives: None (possibly the other Lawbringers were his brethren)

Aliases: None

Base of Operations: Negation Universe

First Appearance: Crux#17 (September, 2002)

Powers/Abilities:  The Lawbringer presumably had vast power to enable him to enforce order on his world, but he was only shown to be able to open portals to other realities, and possibly only via activating existing technology.

The enlarged cranium would likely seem to indicate advanced intelligence or brain power (telepathy, telekinesis, etc.), but maybe they just had hydrocephalus.

Height: Unrevealed (approximately 10')
Weight: Unrevealed (approximately 930 lbs.)
Eyes: Uncertain (there appeared to be a large dark, possibly black central structure surrounded by a light structure (pupil surrounded by iris vs. pupil surrounded by dark iris surrounded by sclera or analogous structures?); however, there also appeared of be light green coloring on the right sides of the lighter structure and light blue coloring on the left sides of the lighter structure (notably it was not green laterally and blue medially, but rather green right and blue left); additionally there were three dots partially on the darker structures but also partially on the lighter structures that were also matched left vs. right each eye (perhaps these dots and or the green vs. blue coloring were only reflections vs. true coloring))
Hair: None
Other Significant Features: Other then being very tall, the Lawbringer(s) also had enlarged craniums that had grooves perhaps mimicking their gyri and sulci (the grooved pattern of the brain)

The Lawgiver seen appeared to have auditory structures superior and lateral to their ears, rather than have external pinna (outer ear appendages) on the lateral surfaces of the skull, inferior to the eyes, like humans.

He also appeared to have a solid dental structure (with curves mimicking the pattern of the incisors vs. the canine teeth) as opposed to individual teeth.

History:

(Crux#17 (fb) - BTS) - The Lawbringer and others of his kind kept order in the Negation Universe.lawbringer-crux-face-fuller

(Crux#?? - BTS) - Beings from the Negation Universe abducted the Atlantean known as Galvan through a dimensional portal.

(Crux#16 - BTS) - Determined to defeat the Atlanteans' enemies, their legendary warrior Aristophanes later pursued the invaders through the portal into the Negation Universe.

(Crux#17 - BTS) - After Aristophanes had battled and defeated a number of powerful warriors & monsters from the Negation Universe, another monster appeared before Aristophanes, only to have its head explode and the stunned Galvan released from it.

(Crux#17) - The Lawbringer then appeared before Aristophanes and Galvan, introducing himself, telling them that he and his kind kept order there, and that they brought disorder there and were unwelcome.

Aristophanes advised the Lawbringer that he did not ask his leave, and that he had come there to visit misery upon this world (for their attacks on his world and people) and that he would remain as long as he wished to do so.

After the Lawbringer insisted that this could not be allowed, that they would return to their universe and that order would be restored,
Aristophanes asked him why he and his people threatened the world of the Atlanteans and what they sought to gain.

Bypassing this question, the Lawbringer announced, "This ends now. You will go now. The way is open. Go now and do not return."

With Galvan unconscious, Aristophanes acknowledged that he would go "for the boy's sake alone." However, he warned, "But should you intrude on my world again, I will revisit this place. And the next time, I will have an army at my back. Thus swears Aristophanes of the Atlan, Warrior Priest of the Halgedae..."(the last phrase being spoken only as Aristophanes emerged through the portal back on Earth).

Comments: Created by Chuck Dixon and Paul Ryan under CrossGen, which was bought by Disney when it filed for bankruptcy, while makes it somewhat Marvelous...lawbringer-crux-post

And here's some background on Crux, courtesy of Wikipedia

It detailed the exploits of six Atlanteans who were put into stasis and are awoken 100,000 years later.

The main story arc centered on Capricia and the other Atlanteans efforts to revive the remaining Atlanteans still in stasis and to find out what happened to the human race, and perhaps to a latter extent how to go through 'transition' themselves. The group go through a series of battles with Negation forces who eventually attempt a full-scale invasion of Earth.

During this time the group come across Australia hidden from the outside world due to a gigantic tachyon supercollider and find a 'transition' portal with humans getting ready to go through. They are attacked by a Negation squad leaving Tug blind for a time. Tug and Verityn then come across a 100,000-year-old Atlantean named Aristophanes, a legend they had heard stories about as children. The group also feels the loss of Gammid to the Negation Universe via "transition" portal which was meant to lead him and the remaining humans found in Australia to a "higher plane of existence" but instead takes them to the Negation Universe.

They meet a couple of "cowboys" who aren't who they appear to be during one of Danik's tests and Terra Cognito feature considerably giving information on Earth and the state of the local galaxy. The twins relationship is explored throughout, detailing their rivalry and their relationship with Zephyre. Capricia and Danik come to an eventual understanding and by the end of the series the motives of Danik are evident throughout all of the Sigilverse titles.

The group eventually revive the remaining Atlanteans just in time to mount an offensive against closing Negation forces. The series ends with the defeat of the Negation invasion of Earth, the mustering of Atlanteans by Danik and Capricia impregnated by Samandahl Rey (from Sigil title)

I don't recall reading any of the CrossGen series prior to writing this and a few other profiles. While it was interesting and fun to read this one issue, I did not have time to read the whole series, so if I am missing in context or detail, pleas let me know.
