History:
(GLA#1 (fb)) <26 years before the main story> - Edward's wife died giving birth to their son, Craig. As the cosmic-powered Deathurge prepared to take her away, she asked him to promise that she would look after her boy, and he did. 

    Edward was devastated to learn of his wife's death.

(GLA#1 (fb)) - Unable to see Deathurge playing with his young son, Edward repeatedly saved Craig from life-threatening dangers.

(GLA#1 (fb)) - Edward rushed across a street where Craig was playing patty cake with Deathurge in the middle of traffic.

(GLA#1 (fb)) - Edward called for Craig to come inside as he played with Deathurge in a tree during a lightning storm.

(GLA#1 (fb)) - Edward rushed to stop Craig as Deathurge encouraged him to climb into an alligator (or crocodile) enclosure at a zoo.hollis-edward-mri-bunnyears

 He asked Craig what he had been doing, and when Craig told him he had just been playing with "D'urge," Edward told him that he was sick and tired of this imaginary friend, and that this sort of thing was going to stop immediately. hollis-edward-mri-durge

    He failed to appreciate that Deathurge was giving him bunny-ears behind his head.

(GLA#1 (fb) - BTS) - As Craig -- who looked to be 3-4 years-old -- played with a lighter, Deathurge advised him to hide under the house to avoid letting his dad catch him.

    Their house subsequently caught fire.

    Firemen found and rescued Craig, but Edward was trapped on the second floor.

(GLA#1 (fb)) - As Deathurge carried Edward up toward the light, he inisisted that he couldn't leave his boy, as he was all Craig had.

    Deathurge advised Edward the Craig had and would always have him (Deathurge).
