History:
(Fantastic Four Fanfare#1 / 3 (fb) - BTS) - The territorial insect-like
monster Googada hibernated on Higurashi Island and was expected to
hibernate for at least another hundred years. When
the Isle of Love
reality dating television show set up operations on Higurashi Island,
the intruders disturbed Googada's slumber, prematurely awakening the
creature.
(Fantastic Four Fanfare#1 / 3) - Attempting to protect its territory,
Googada burst through the side of a mountain, terrifying the
participants on Isle of Love
and attacking Higurashi Island. While most of the participants found
Googada hideous, the hiding Mole Man found Googada beautiful and when
the panicky show participants begged fellow participant Johnny Storm
(aka the heroic Human Torch) "zap" Googada, Mole Man pleaded with the
Human Torch on Googada's behalf, insisting that Googada was only
protecting her territory. Sympathetic to Mole Man's pleas, the Human
Torch assured the Mole Man that he wished to prevent anyone from
getting hurt, including Googada herself, and he asked the Mole Man to
get everyone to safety while he distracted Googada. When Googada
attacked the neon lights of the Isle
of Love show, the Torch asked Mole Man if there was a place for
Googada on Monster Island, to which Mole Man replied in the affirmative
if the Torch was able to get Googada there. Deducing that Googada would
be attracted to light, the Torch had everyone kill the lights on the Isle of Love set and he
flamed on, attracting Googada to the light of his flames. Googada then
followed Human Torch away from Higurashi Island. Once Googada arrived
on Monster Island, she fell asleep and returned to hibernation and the
Mole Man commended the Torch on saving Googada rather than condemning
her.

Googada's size
seemed to fluctuate in the art of her story. When she first emerged,
she appeared roughly 3/4 the size of a mountain (see main image above) but on the
next page, she appears to be just a bit taller than the island beach
houses (see the supplemental image
above of her attacking the island). Two pages later, she appears
that same size on the first panel but in the second panel, her head
alone is slightly bigger than the 5'10" Human Torch, suggesting that
she is at least 3-4 times the size of the Torch. However, a panel or
three later, she is seen flying near the Human Torch and only appears
to be about double his size, around 12' or so. She then appears only a
little bit taller than the Human Torch on the last page of the story,
though I suppose one could argue that she is curled up sleeping on that
page (see sleeping image above)
and could be hunched over quite a bit. Overall, I'd say she's around
double the size of the Human Torch, possssibly three times his size. I
approximate her weight at around 800 lbs but it could be more if an
official height later confirms she is taller than 12'.
