(Night Thrasher: Four Control#3
(fb) - BTS) - Harmon Furmintz received grants from the non-profit
Taylor Foundation and when Daryl Taylor passed away, the conservators
of his estate, Andrew Chord and Tai, helped Furmintz develop the
research facility that became Genetech.
(New Mutants I Annual#7 (fb) - BTS) - The Genetech company was founded on the principle of utilizing superhuman genetic research for the benefit of mankind.
(New Warriors I#3 (fb) - BTS) - As Genetech became an
up-and-coming experimental genetics firm headed by Furmintz as CEO and
administrator of business affairs Walter Rosen, it became interested in
pioneering new methods of superhuman genetic engineering.
(New Warriors I#1 (fb) - BTS) -
The New York Department of Environmental Protection hired Genetech to
help investigate a ground soil contamination at a Queens
public school. At some point prior to visiting the school site,
Genetech acquired an advanced AILEAC unit.
(New Warriors I#1) - While
Genetech worked on the
Queens school contamination, a class from Empire State University's
Department of Environmental Science took a field trip to the
contamination site. When student Namorita Prentiss questioned whether
the commotion regarding the contamination led to negative effects on
the community, teacher Linda Truesdale suggested they go straight to
the source for an answer and she deferred the question to Walt Rosen of
Genetech. Rosen remarked that there were no easy answers and
when Namorita pushed the topic, Rosen realized Namorita was Namor the
Sub-Mariner's cousin and, fascinated, he explained that Genetech was
still trying to determine the questions and that the answers tended to
take care of themselves. The discussion was soon interrupted when
Genetech's AILEAC unit began digging up the tainted soil, amazing the
ESU students. Rosen explained what the AILEAC unit was and how it dug
up only the tainted soil and ran it through multi-band electromagnetic
resonating transmissions. When Genetech employee Roger noticed
something strange occurring in the AILEAC's analysis casing, he
reported it to Walt Rosen but a face soon appeared within the analysis
casing and the cosmic Terrax burst free from the AILEAC unit's casing.
Namorita quickly engaged Terrax and after she was joined by several
other young heroes, Genetech's sensors registered enormous stress to
Terrax's systems when Namorita flew him into the air. Rosen then
informed them that Terrax could possibly be stopped, based on his
theories, and Night Thrasher had Namorita and Nova flew Terrax into the
air, where the rocky Terrax's body lost cohesion. Following the battle,
Rosen explained how Genetech's sensors had picked up Terrax's need to
constantly replenish his form using ground soil and how that form of
Terrax wasn't truly alive to begin with. The Avengers soon arrived to
handle the containment of the area and Genetech began discussing the
matter with them as the young heroes formed a team together called the
New Warriors.
(New Warriors I#2 / New Warriors I#3 (fb)) - Months
later during a Genetech board meeting, Walt Rosen led a presentation
about the New Warriors group in which he referred to the group as
young, fresh and usable and presented the question of how more could be
found out about the group. Board member Jinkens suggested that his old
college acquaintance that was involved with the superhuman population
might be able to help gather data on the New Warriors and Genetech CEO
Harmon Furmintz asked if the acquaintance was dependable and discreet.
Jinkens assured Furmintz that his acquaintance tended to think these
types of situations out deviously and joked that the man could be quite
a "mad thinker."
(New Warriors I#3) - Walt Rosen led another similar presentation regarding the New Warriors to the Genetech board while the Mad Thinker, who secretly incarcerated and projecting his mind into an android version of himself, waited behind the curtain, observing the meeting. As the Mad Thinker viewed the slides of each of the New Warriors being presented by Rosen, Rosen himself informed the Genetech board that they had attained a freelance consultant for the job of gathering data on the New Warriors. Rosen then introduced the Thinker and his android Primus and CEO Harmon Furmintz asked if the Mad Thinker would accept the assignment of gathering data on the Warriors. A smiling Thinker told Furmintz that he would think about it. Two weeks later, the Mad Thinker and Primus set out to research and test the New Warriors on behalf of Genetech. After gathering data on the Warriors and informing them each individually to meet at the site of their formation at 10pm the following Friday, the Thinker, traveling to the site with Primus, thought about he was dealing with children that represented the future of the human race and a corporation who sought to utilize those children for their own self-serving purposes. When the New Warriors arrived on the scene, the Thinker android revealed that he had been hired by Genetech, who hoped to get into superhuman genetic engineering. When the Warriors asked what was in it for Genetech and the Thinker himself, the Thinker android explained that he was involved for the information itself while he assumed Genetech was interested in creating superhumans for the highest bidder based on the data the Thinker had gathered. Angry that the Thinker had given Genetech a way to create an army of villains and unaware that the Thinker he was speaking to was an android, the Warriors' Night Thrasher punched the Thinker, knocking its robotic head off. Also unaware he had been working with an android, Primus thought Thrasher had killed the Thinker and became enraged, asking why the New Warriors would do such a thing when they had simply been doing their job and attempting to warn them about Genetech in the process. A fight nearly broke out between the Warriors and Primus until Speedball arrived with the Thinker's android severed head, who assured the Warriors that he had not provided Genetech with any information regarding their dual identities.
(New Warriors I Annual#4 (fb) - BTS) - While working
on creating their own superhumans, Genetech enhanced the natural skills
of gifted MIT mathematics student Thomas Sorenson.
(New Warriors I#4) - The New
Warriors (minus
Speedball) decided to infiltrate the Genetech Research Complex in
Sayville, Long Island to learn more about the firm and what they wanted
with them. When Genetech learned of the break-in, they unleashed their
own newly-created superhumans, Psionex, to test them against the New
Warriors.
Psionex quickly subdued each of the New Warriors one-by-one and they
were all placed in a cell with electrified bars, in which they were
subsequently visited by Genetech's Walter Rosen and Harmon Furmintz.
Rosen assured the group that they were only temporarily captured and
advised against trying to break out due to the electrified bars.
Furmintz noted how hostile the New Warriors were but Rosen responded by
recognizing that their hostility was to be expected given their
situation. Furmintz then assured the New Warriors that Genetech meant
them no harm and began to comment on the surprise he received when he
learned the group had infiltrated the Genetech complex. Marvel Boy
interrupted, demanding to know he was and why the New Warriors were
being so treated so harshly, at which point Furmintz explained that
their treatment was due to the group trespassing on private property.
He then related his origins of being passed over for superhuman power
due to a genetic defect and how that pushed him to create Genetech,
through which he hoped to create a race of superhumans. Furmintz then
announced that Genetech had used the data provided to them by the Mad
Thinker to create Psionex, the first in his program of creating
superhumans. Rosen then explained how Genetech had created a
revolutionary series of techniques to enhance superhuman potential in
ordinary humans using biochemical, biomechanical and biosurgical means.
Rosen admitted that Psionex was not the ideal first candidates for
Genetech's program but Furmintz interrupted, stating that Psionex just
needed guidance and nurturing.
At that point, Speedball arrived
on the scene and tricked the Psionex member Impulse into damaging
Genetech's generator powering the New Warriors' cell, freeing the
group. Before the New Warriors could fight back, Furmintz revealed that
the group's earlier break-in had alerted the police, who were
surrounding the building as they spoke. When Furmintz reminded the New
Warriors of the crimes they had committed on private property and asked
what they would do, Night Thrasher ordered the New Warriors to attack
and Psionex jumped into battle against the young heroes. News crews
soon arrived outside and as the two teams battled one another, Furmintz
commented that things were not going the way they should. When Furmintz
tried to stop the fight, Night Thrasher nearly attacked the elderly
Furmintz before Nova stopped his teammate. As the fight wrapped up,
Night Thrasher demanded to see Genetech pay for what they had done but
Firestar and the other New Warriors questioned whether they had any
authority to stop them. Rosen interrupted and admitted that while
Furmintz's dream was a valid one, Genetech should take more
responsibility for their own actions and promised the company would be
more prudent in the future. Reluctantly agreeing to let Genetech
continue on their own, the New Warriors departed the Genetech facility
as reporters caught of a glimpse of them leaving on camera. Rosen was
later interviewed by news crews and he publicly claimed that the New
Warriors had assisted Genetech with a problem with one of their
experiments.
(New Warriors I#15 (fb) - BTS) - Genetech was approached by someone claiming to represent the Ranidaean Corporation, who paid Genetech cash up front for genetic work on a superhuman DNA strain.
(New Warriors I Annual#1 (fb) - BTS) - After Genetech
accepted the offer, Ophrah Industries handled the overseeing of
Ranidaean's work.
(New Mutants I Annual#7 (fb) -
BTS) - Genetech began
developing a specific strain of genetic material per their work for
hire agreement. Following an attack by the
mutant mercenaries, the
Alliance
of Evil, on the Vermont prep school housing the former
X-Terminators Wiz
Kid,
Artie Maddicks and Leech, Genetech sent agents to the school within two
hours of the attack to analyze the ambient energy readings present.
(New Mutants I Annual#7) - Walter Rosen spoke to
Genetech employees alongside Harmon Furmintz regarding the attack and
announced that the ambient energy readings at the Vermont school
matched those of the genetic material they had been hired to develop.
When one of the employees, Holly, asked if they were being tasked to
work on a project of questionable nature, Rosen admitted that they
weren't sure of anything yet, only that Genetech had to keep their
noses clean after their recent problems involving the superhuman
community. Rosen then passed the microphone to CEO Harmon Furmintz, who
assured the Genetech employees that the company was founded to benefit
mankind and suggested that Genetech not jump to conclusions that their
benefactor had anything but noble intentions regarding the genetic
material Genetech had been hired to cultivate. Another Genetech
continued to question their job, reminding Furmintz that the energy
patterns of the Alliance of Evil's attacks did match the DNA matrix
Genetech was developing and prompting Rosen to announce that Genetech
appeared to be in the middle of a race to create whatever their
mysterious benefactor wanted. Rosen then suggested that Genetech needed
to win that race for their own sakes.
(New Warriors I Annual#1 (fb) - BTS) - Concerned
about a possible attack on their facility and a double-cross from their
employers, Genetech asked the New Warriors to help protect their
headquarters from such an attack.
(New Mutants I Annual#7) - After the newly-minted
X-Force superhero team interrogated the Alliance of Evil's Tower
and he claimed to be working for Genetech on a cellular reconstruction
assignment, X-Force busted into the main Genetech facility in an effort
to get more information. Unaware of what X-Force's intentions were, the
New Warriors appeared at Genetech and warned X-Force against taking one
more step.
(New Warriors I Annual#1) - Following a battle
between X-Force and the New Warriors, Genetech's Walt Rosen and Harmon
Furmintz arrived and agreed with Speedball's suggestions to halt
hostilities. Cable agreed to have X-Force lower their weapons and
Marvel Boy explained to X-Force how Genetech had asked the New Warriors
to keep an eye on their facility in case of an attack from their
double-crossing benefactors. When X-Force's Cannonball questioned who
had hired Genetech and for what, Walt Rosen explained that Genetech had
been hired by Ophrah Industries to create a DNA matrix for a
self-replicating, self-reproducing cellular mix. Cable responded by
revealing Tower's claims of being hired by Genetech themselves and
Rosen insisted that they had not hired Tower and his Alliance of Evil
cohorts and that they had been straight with the New Warriors regarding
their concerns. Harmon Furmintz followed up by informing X-Force and
the New Warriors about the matching energy signatures between the
matrix Genetech was creating and those left behind at the scenes of the
Alliance of Evil's attacks. The two heroic groups then split into three
squads to gather more information and while Cable and his group
terrorized the Alliance of Evil's Frenzy into revealing that they had
been working for A.I.M., Nova and his group ventured into the basements
in the former side of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters to cross
reference Genetech's energy data with the Cerebro computer's files.
Using their knowledge that Genetech was working on a cellular structure
for a living being, Nova's squad had Cerebro searched for the energy
signature in Genetech's data and Cerebro pulled up Genetech's global
location data on the energy signature. Curious as to how Genetech could
have acquired such data, Cannonball had Cerebro define a source for the
information on Genetech's disc and Cerebro quickly determined that the
data had originally been shared between the X-Men's systems and those
on the Muir Island research facility. Returning to Genetech's
headquarters, the three squads of X-Force and New Warriors members
reviewed the data they had each gathered and determined that the energy
signature that Genetech was working on and the Alliance of Evil had
been aiding in acquiring belonged to that of the reality-warping mutant
Proteus.
(Uncanny X-Men I Annual#15 - BTS) - X-Force and the
New Warriors traveled to Muir Island to warn Dr. Moira MacTaggert of
the potential resurrection of Proteus and as they explained the
situation, Cannonball informed the Muir Island X-Men about the Alliance
of Evil's initial false claims of being hired by Genetech. Night
Thrasher followed up by explaining how Genetech had asked the New
Warriors for assistance out of fear that the company had gotten
involved in something over their heads and how the Alliance of Evil had
actually been hired by A.I.M., who was mass producing body casings to
potentially house a reborn Proteus. After sharing the story of what was
going on and why they had come to Muir Island, Cable revealed to the
Muir Island X-Men that two factions seemed to be trying to recreate
Proteus: A.I.M. via energy absorption and containment, and the
unknowing Genetech via biological means created from Dr. Moira
MacTaggert's own research.
(New Warriors I#15 (fb) - BTS) -
After the disaster
regarding the reconstituted Proteus, Genetech began an investigation
into the specifics of the company being hired to cultivate the DNA
strain and learned that the Ranidaean Corporation's hiring of Genetech
had been nothing but part of a cover-up to recreate Proteus. Upon
further investigation by Genetech, it was determined that the Ranidaean
Corporation never actually existed as an actual corporation.
(New Warriors I#15) - At the Genetech facility on
Long Island, Walt Rosen met with Harmon Furmintz to discuss the
findings of the internal investigation into their recent work and Rosen
confirmed that Genetech being hired to cultivate a superhuman DNA
strain had been nothing more than a cover-up for Proteus' recreation.
Rosen informed Furmintz that there was nothing that could be done about
Genetech's involvement now, as they had been paid in cash for work
Genetech never completed. He also informed Furmintz that the Ranidaean
Corporation that had paid them didn't actually exist, at which point
Furmintz suggested they move on to Genetech's current work. Rosen then
updated Furmintz on Genetech's work analyzing the irradiated soil
remains of Terrax's earthen simulacrum but he became confused when
Furmintz asked if the analysis was bearing fruit. Furmintz admitted his
worries about whether the work Genetech was doing was actually
amounting to anything good and Rosen reminded Furmintz that Genetech
was still very much an up-and-coming firm and that they would improve
on their research and experimentation through trial and error. After
Rosen asked how they expected to grow as a company if they didn't
continue working towards the future, a sighing Furmintz asked for a
progress update on their Psionex agents. Rosen admitted that Psionex
wasn't progressing very well, as their psychiatric profiles had been
diminishing as each member learned to better use the abilities given
them by Genetech. A disappointed Furmintz questioned why Genetech
couldn't manage to create heroes but the conversation was interrupted
when Psionex explosively escaped their cells. Announcing that they were
tired of being poked and prodded by Genetech, Psionex attacked Genetech
and Rosen attempted to have the company's communications department
call 911 and send a priority alert to the New Warriors but Psionex's
Impulse violently slashed Rosen, horrifying Furmintz.
Genetech's call did successfully reach the New Warriors, however, and they quickly made their way to the company's headquarters, with Andrew Chord sending a message to Speedball informing him that Psionex had escaped at Genetech. Chord then contacted Namorita as well to inform her of the situation at Genetech as well and the assembled New Warriors met at the Genetech facility ten minutes later. Inside the facility, Psionex had tied up most of the Genetech employees while Furmintz struggled to perform first aid on the unconscious Rosen. The New Warriors soon busted into the facility and as a vicious battle ensued between the New Warriors and Psionex, Harmon Furmintz pleaded with everyone to cease hostilities. When his pleas went unanswered, Furmintz, feeling as if his dream of empowering humanity was a valid one, accepted responsibility for Genetech's actions and decided to end the fighting by combining the soil samples that made up Terrax's earthen form. The freed Terrax then utilized Furmintz himself as a host body to reform himself.
(New Warriors I#16) - Terrax smashed his way through
the Genetech research facility and into the air on flying rocks,
leaving the facility in shambles behind him. Marvel Boy telekinetically
protected everyone from the damage and Nova soon surveyed the
catastrophic damage to the Genetech facility. Walt Rosen soon regained
consciousness and explained what had happened to Furmintz as most of
Psionex fled the scene, leaving Mathemanic and Impulse to aid the New
Warriors in tracking down and defeating Terrax.
(New Warriors I#23 (fb) - BTS) - Following Furmintz's
essential death when Terrax assumed his body as a host for his
consciousness, Walter Rosen was made chairman of Genetech.
(New Warriors I Annual#4 (fb) - BTS) - After the
events of Terrax possessing the body of Harmon Furmintz and the
subsequent battle with Terrax, Coronary returned to Genetech, who
promised to find a cure for Coronary's painful transformations.
(New Warriors I#23) - When Rosen was called in a
reluctant witness in the murder trial of the New Warrior Marvel Boy,
Rosen was introduced to the jury as the chairman of Genetech and an
expert in superhuman genetics.
(Amazing Spider-Man I Annual#26 - BTS) - After the
New Warriors' Speedball went missing, Night Thrasher sought to track
him down and Genetech supplied him with a Matrix Sensor device capable
of tracking Speedball's kinetic energy matrix.
(Amazing Spider-Man I Annual#26 / 5 (fb) - BTS) - Genetech sought to access to so-called Light Dimension.
(Spectacular Spider-Man I
Annual#12 / 5 (fb) - BTS) -
While discussing the means of accessing the Light Dimension, Genetech's
Chadwick suggested bringing in the criminal Lightmaster and a reluctant
Walt Rosen warned Chadwick that Lightmaster was dangerous. Chadwick
made sure to take precautions before bringing Lightmaster to Genetech.
(Amazing Spider-Man I Annual#26 / 5 (fb) - BTS) - Genetech ultimately arranged for Lightmaster to be released into their custody in exchange for a shortened prison sentence. Despite his insistence that he could no longer access his light powers, Lightmaster was surprised when Genetech successfully restored his superhuman powers.
(Amazing Spider-Man I Annual#26 / 5) - The restored
Lightmaster evaded Genetech's security systems and ventured into one of
their labs, where he utilized their light cannons to restore himself to
full power. He then used his light powers to access Genetech's computer
systems in hopes of tracking his former foe Dazzler but when he
discovered that Genetech did not have an updated file on Dazzler, he
continued his search and learned of the light-based Dagger. Police soon
arrived on the scene, having been led there by the triggering of a
silent alarm, but Lightmaster used his powers to kill them before
departing the Genetech facility for the Holy Ghost Church, where Dagger
and her partner Cloak resided.
(Spectacular Spider-Man I Annual#12 / 5) - At Genetech, Walt Rosen chewed out Chadwick for Lightmaster's killing of the two police officers and angrily announced that he was holding Chadwick responsible for what had happened at their facility. When Chadwick insisted that they had taken precautions, Rosen exclaimed that Chadwick should have had a twenty-four hour guard on Lightmaster and recalibrated the sensors to detect Lightmaster's presence in the Genetech labs. Accusing Chadwick of costing two men their lives due to his slipshod approach to Lightmaster's security and harming Genetech's reputation, Rosen ordered Chadwick into his office within ten minutes and warned that Chadwick better have solutions to Lightmaster's escape. While Rosen was berating Chadwick, Lightmaster had captured Dagger and was gloating how the world would soon fear his name, starting with Genetech. Having learned from his friend, police officer Rusty, that Lightmaster had recently been taken into Genetech custody, Dagger's crimefighting partner Cloak infiltrated Genetech in hopes of gathering information on the criminal. Finding two Genetech employees, Cloak attacked them, demanding to know Lightmaster's location, and the terrified employees informed Cloak that they had been working on a way to stop Lightmaster, whom they had tracked to a hydroelectric plant on the edge of town. Taking the Genetech weapon meant to sap Lightmaster's strength from the two employees, Cloak then teleported out of the Genetech facility and into the hydroelectric plant where Lightmaster was keeping Dagger.
(Web of Spider-Man I Annual#8 / 5) - Chadwick arranged for Genetech's Light Brigade force to storm the hydroelectric plant to recapture Lightmaster and upon hearing the scuffle inside, he ordered the Light Brigade to take down Lightmaster quickly. When Chadwick ordered the Light Brigade inside, they found Lightmaster nowhere and Chadwick demanded Cloak turn over the criminal, orders Cloak refused. Chadwick angrily announced that Lightmaster had made an agreement with Genetech to volunteer for their project in exchange for a commuted prison sentence and when Cloak argued that Genetech appeared unable to handle Lightmaster, Chadwick refused to waste any more time and ordered the Light Brigade to attack Cloak. Cloak easily gained the upper hand against Chadwick but Dagger asked Cloak to release Chadwick and Cloak did so, also releasing the skeletal Lightmaster. Chadwick immediately ordered the Light Brigade to bring over a Light Molecular Recombinator device in an effort to begin regenerating Lightmaster's consciousness and form from the trace amounts of his light energy that were still intact. The Light Brigade then packed up Lightmaster in preparation to return him to Genetech and when Chadwick suggested having Cloak and Dagger arrested for interference, Cloak reminded Chadwick that he wouldn't have them arrested, as Chadwick himself wasn't working fully within the law himself. Cloak then reminded Chadwick that they would be around.

Following the passing of the enigmatic Tai and the incapacitation of
Andrew Chord, Genetech lost its support of the Taylor Foundation.
Without the support of the non-profit, a hostile takeover was initiated
in an attempt to control Genetech.
(Night Thrasher: Four Control#3) - Night Thrasher,
Namorita and Silhouette visited Genetech as Walt Rosen was explaining
the situation with Cloak and Dagger to a group of men. Rosen was
informed of the New Warriors' arrival and Rosen asked for the skylight
to be opened for the heroes to enter. Once the Warriors had entered the
building, greetings were exchanged and Rosen asked what Genetech could
do for the New Warriors. Thrasher suggested they walk and talk in
private and once they were alone, Night Thrasher asked what the Taylor
Foundation had to do with Genetech's incorporation. Revealing that
Harmon Furmintz had received grants from the Taylor Foundation and that
its conservators, Tai and Andrew Chord, had helped Furmintz establish
the Genetech facility, Rosen explained how Genetech had lost Taylor
Foundation support following Tai's death and Chord's incapacitation.
When Night Thrasher mentioned that Chord had been kidnapped and that
they were trying to determine who the kidnapper was, Rosen theorized on
the why Chord was kidnapped by suggesting Chord was kidnapped in an
effort to control the Taylor Foundation during the hostile takeover of
Genetech. Thrasher questioned if the takeover had been initiated by
Ophrah Industries and Rosen admitted that most of Genetech's
outstanding stock had been bought up by Ophrah. He then informed Night
Thrasher that most of the other shareholders seemed ready to sell out
their shares to Ophrah as well. Thrasher then questioned whether Rosen
needed to stop Ophrah before they had a controlling share in Genetech
and when Rosen replied in the affirmative, Night Thrasher handed Rosen
a check from the Taylor Foundation buying out all of Genetech's
outstanding stock before Ophrah could. As Rosen looked at the check in
shock, Night Thrasher commented that if Ophrah Industries' Gideon
wanted a battle for control of Genetech, he would have to fight the
Taylor Foundation and Night Thrasher himself to win it.
Dwayne Taylor subsequently paid a
visit to Ophrah Industries, where he interrupted a shareholders meeting
to reveal to them how Ophrah's CEO, Gideon, had made an unwarranted
attack on both Genetech and, by association, the Taylor Foundation
itself. Gideon appeared in person and denounced Taylor as a liar but
Taylor reminded Gideon that he had attempted to buyout Genetech using
his corporate holdings in Ophrah Industries in an effort to consolidate
enough shares to make a move against the Taylor Foundation. Gideon
claimed his actions were for the good of the Taylor Foundation and when
Taylor argued, Gideon claimed he had major backing from both the
Genetech and Taylor Foundation boards for such an acquisition. Taylor
responded by stating that he would rather see his father's Foundation
crash then be controlled by someone like Gideon, to which Gideon
suggested Taylor put his opinion to a vote among the Taylor Foundation
shareholders to see if he could amass enough support to gain a
controlling interest in Genetech. Taylor then commented that he would
prefer letting the shareholders of both Ophrah Industries and Genetech
vote instead. Thirty minutes later, after the shareholders of both
companies placed their votes for who should control Genetech, Ophrah
Industries received a 44% share of the stock while the Taylor
Foundation received 47% of the share, granting the Taylor Foundation
the controlling interest in Genetech and causing cheers from those who
voted for Taylor.
(Night Thrasher: Four Control#4 - BTS) - Genetech administrator Walt Rosen was asked to visit the Taylor Foundation alongside Father Michael Janes, where Dwayne Taylor asked them both to become board members of the Taylor Foundation.
(Thunderstrike I#2 (fb) - BTS) - A group of French
scientists hired Genetech to work on an interface between wood and
flesh for the dying criminal Black Tom Cassidy.
(X-Men Unlimited I#2 (fb) - BTS) -
Gabrielle Haller
contacted Genetech to find a way to neutralize the mutant Magneto.
After Dr. Moira MacTaggert provided Genetech with data on Magneto,
Haller and her associate Adrian Eiskalt visited Genetech to work with
Walt Rosen.
(X-Men Unlimited I#2) - After working at Genetech for
two days as Rosen showed the fruits of Genetech's labors, Haller and
Eiskalt were shown the metal-free Fugue
Armor,
which Eiskalt hoped to use against Magneto. When Eiskalt asked if the
armor would prepare him for facing Magneto, Rosen had the Genetech
operations department pull up their file on Magneto and he admitted to
Haller that they could not have come up with the armor without the data
Dr. Moira MacTaggert had sent over. Rosen then admitted his interest in
taking a look at all of Dr. MacTaggert's files before Eiskalt asked
Rosen to continue going over the data on Magneto. Rosen explained how
Genetech's Fugue Armor would allow one man to get enough to take
Magneto down. Two weeks later, Haller and Eiskalt returned to Genetech,
where Rosen showed them the
Bio-Electric
Mask
that would make a person invisible to bio-electric readings. After
Rosen explained how the Bio-Electric Mask worked, Genetech spent two
days testing Adrian Eiskalt to see if he could wear the Fugue Armor and
during the tests, Rosen explained to Gabrielle Haller how Eiskalt would
essentially be invisible to Magneto's notice and how he might be the
only advantage they had in bringing down Magneto. Eiskalt soon asked
Rosen about the weapon he would need to use against Magneto and Rosen
showed Eiskalt the schematics on an advanced taser gun, explaining how
the gun would deliver a dart that would incapacitate Magneto for two
hours, long enough for him to be taken into custody. As Eiskalt
secretly sought to customize the taser gun to deliver lethal shots,
Rosen brought a publicity crew into Genetech to advertise the Fugue
Armor, which he hoped would allow Genetech to prosper.
(Thunderstrike
I#2) - The criminal Juggernaut phoned Genetech from a pay phone and
informed them that their wood to flesh interface procedure on his
partner Black Tom Cassidy was not taking. Claiming the procedure
needed
adjusting, Juggernaut asked Genetech to gather all of their notes and
research on Cassidy into a single file and informed Genetech that he
would stop by their facility in an hour's time to pick up the file.
Juggernaut was told that he would be wasting his time, as Genetech
could not release a patient's medical records with proper
authorization. When Genetech asked what relation Juggernaut was to
Black Tom Cassidy, Juggernaut claimed they were family. As Juggernaut
made his way to the Genetech facility, he thought about how Black Tom
Cassidy had seemed to think Genetech had saved his life by developing
the wood to flesh grafting technique. He also thought about the pain
Cassidy had recently been in and how he need Genetech's research file
on him, noting that it was his task to convince Genetech to release
the
file. When Juggernaut was confronted by the fire department and hosed
in an attempt to impede his progress, Juggernaut thought to himself
how
the confidentiality policy of Genetech would be thrown out the window
once they saw how much damage Juggernaut did. As the heroic
Thunderstrike appeared on the scene, Juggernaut thought how he didn't
need a superhero encounter, as he had only been hoping to cause enough
destruction to scare Genetech into turning over their file on Black
Tom
Cassidy. When Thunderstrike managed to remove Juggernaut's helmet with
the enchanted Bloodaxe, Juggernaut agreed to a deal and Thunderstrike
accompanied him to Genetech to retrieve Cassidy's file. Thunderstrike
acquired Cassidy's file from Genetech, who assured him the file was
complete, and Thunderstrike turned the file over to Juggernaut, who
agreed to pay for the damage he had caused.
(Night Thrasher I#5 - BTS) - Walter Rosen remained with Genetech while continuing to serve on the board of directors for the Taylor Foundation.
(New Warriors I Annual#4 (fb) -
BTS) - Genetech
continued to run experiments on Coronary in an attempt to cure him of
his fractured physical condition.
(New Warriors I Annual#4) - While running tests on
Coronary in the Genetech labs, Genetech employee Alston noticed some
strange readings on Coronary and reported them to Walt Rosen. Rosen
asked Alston to define "weird" in this situation but before Alston
could get all of his words out, Coronary burst free from his test tube
and exclaimed how much pain he had been in since he had returned to
Genetech. Angrily reminding Rosen that he had promised to find a cure
for Coronary's transforming body, Coronary attacked Rosen, who insisted
that Genetech was still trying to help him. When Coronary demanded to
know why he continued to mutate into more and more bizarre forms, the
new Asylum appeared on the scene alongside Mathemanic and Pretty
Persuasions and suggested that perhaps Coronary's problems weren't
physical in nature but spiritual. Asylum then recruited Coronary for a
regrouped Psionex team and twenty minutes later, after Genetech
assessed the damage Coronary's escape had done to their facility, Walt
Rosen phoned the New Warriors to get their assistance in apprehending
Psionex. When the regrouped Psionex began attacking crime as
superheroes, Walt Rosen of Genetech was interviewed by the 2 News,
where he expressed uneasy happiness that Psionex had devoted itself to
improving the New York City streets.
(New Warriors I#52 - BTS) - Genetech's Walt Rosen visited a special federal detainment center in Manhattan after two members of Psionex, Mathemanic and Pretty Persuasions, turned themselves in for their involvement in the accidental death of young boy Darius Clements and while there, he asked the New Warriors to help track down Asylum, Coronary and Impulse in an effort to prove Psionex's innocence in the boy's death.

Asylum eventually
turned himself in as well and the rest of Psionex were released into
the custody of Genetech while Asylum awaited trial, the courts ordering
Genetech to help Psionex via strict medical supervision.
(New Warriors I#53) - After mass belief that five days in a row were all dated August 27th, Genetech began to notice some of their test subjects also thinking it was August 27th and when each of the subjects displayed equal amounts of acethycholine stimulation, Walt Rosen questioned whether Psionex's Mathemanic was involved. Annoyed that one of Genetech's subjects was the cause of the mass hysteria, Rosen expressed concern that Genetech would get blamed for the events but one of the Genetech employees, Marissa, noted that Psionex were never prisoners of Genetech and should be held accountable for their own actions. Angry at the entire situation, Rosen lashed out at Marissa, knocking papers from her hand and exclaiming how Genetech would get blamed due to the court order that Genetech was to supervise Psionex. Quickly apologizing to Marissa for losing his temper, Rosen admitted his frustrations at how Genetech seemed to still be paying for their founder Harmon Furmintz's ridiculous dreams. Rosen then paid a visit to Mathemanic in his room at Genetech and found him in a trance-like state, mumbling about the death of Darius Clements. The two argued about reality vs. Mathemanic's affecting the city's perception of reality and when Mathemanic managed to alter the perceptions of the New Warriors so they thought they were still fighting Psionex in their battle from days earlier, the Warriors decided to pay Genetech a visit to clear up the situation. The Warriors arrived at Genetech soon after and confronted Mathemanic themselves in an attempt to convince him that he could not alter perceptions to bring Darius Clements back from the dead. While still in his room at Genetech, Mathemanic ultimately altered his own perceptions enough to accept Darius' death and he ceased altering the perceptions of others.
(New Warriors I#61 (fb)) - On May
27th, the
Spider-Man clone known as Spidercide attacked Genetech at their main
Long Island facility, disabling security cameras and phone and power
lines. Concerned, security officer Frank Leete ordered Genetech's
security agents to check Sector Three of the facility while he powered
up the emergency cellular service to phone the authorities. Before the
security guards could get into the hallway, Spidercide downed them and
Frank himself fired a shot at Spidercide, who dodged the attack and
webbed Frank up before stealing a supply of ribonucleic nanocontagium.
(New Warriors I#61) - The next morning following the
theft, Genetech launched an internal investigation and Walt Rosen
himself interview Frank Leete for the investigation. When Leete related
the events, Rosen deduced that the thief must have been a superhuman
and wondered who could help recover the nanocontagium without bringing
the press down on Genetech with Psionex gone. Rosen soon phoned the New
Warriors and Justice (formerly Marvel Boy) answered the phone, noting
that he recalled Rosen and sarcastically guessing that Rosen was
calling the Warriors to tell them about the latest calamity at
Genetech. Justice then quickly contacted his teammate Hindsight to
inform him of the situation at Genetech so that could supervise the
Warriors' headquarters construction while the rest of the team went to
Genetech. Justice then summoned the other New Warriors to meet at the
Genetech facility and as the Warriors all descended onto Genetech, Walt
Rosen noted how much the team's roster had changed since he had last
encountered them. Rosen then began to relate the story of the
ribonucleic nanocontagium theft and had Securicom's Mr. Carlson
explained how Genetech's security cameras had been gunked up during the
theft. After learning what was stolen from Genetech, the New Warriors
questioned why Genetech did not go to the police, the FBI or even the
EPA but Rosen admitted that he would rather Genetech fix the problem on
their own if possible, noting that the New Warriors had proven
themselves numerous times when it came to dealing with superhumans
Genetech could not handle. An annoyed Justice agreed to help Rosen and
Genetech but warned that his teammate Hindsight would call the
authorities after an hour and Genetech would cooperate with them
whether or not the nanocontagium was recovered.
(Spider-Man: Maximum Clonage Alpha#1) - After the nanocontagium was released in Pennsylvania, creating a biohazard situation, the New Warriors angrily returned to Genetech to confront Walt Rosen, who admitted being wrong by not providing the New Warriors with all of the information they needed on the ribonucleic nanocontagium. Justice berated Rosen for not providing key information on the contagium, which now seemed to be tied to the incident in Pennsylvania, and Rosen admitted the Warriors were right and he was wrong. He then asked the New Warriors to go to Pennsylvania and when Firestar demanded to know why, Rosen revealed that a survivor of the contagium had been found that was demonstrating strange powers. An angry Justice asked if Rosen was now asking the Warriors to risk their lives again for Genetech on the mere hopes that Rosen was giving them the full truth. After the New Warriors successfully apprehended the survivor, Rafael Carago, Walt Rosen arrived in Pennsylvania and argued against Carago being sent to Project: PEGASUS when Genetech had its own maximum security complex fully capable of housing Carago.
(New Warriors II#1 (fb) - BTS) - Inspired by Reed
Richards' exploration of the Negative Zone, Genetech began a project to
create an interdimensional gateway to pioneer exploration of an
as-yet-undiscovered dimension.
(New Warriors II#1) -
Seven months later, as Genetech's
Dr. Casciola and Dr. Rudy put the finishing touches on the
interdimensional gateway, Walt Rosen made a recording of the initial
powering on of the gateway. Ten minutes later, Rosen asked Dr. Rudy to
comment on the gateway and Rudy began to state how the gateway
remained
constant until the most recent few minutes, at which point Rudy was
interrupted by the arrival of the Negative Zone's Blastaar through the
gateway. Blastaar immediately proclaimed himself the new ruler of
Earth
and terrified the Genetech employees into bowing before him. Rosen
eventually got away long enough to phone the New Warriors' Crash Pad
headquarters and while the Warriors were disbanded, Speedball
nonetheless answered the phone and assured Rosen the New Warriors
would
be there. Speedball, Nova and Namorita immediately made their way over
to the Genetech facility, joined by Turbo along the way, and upon
seeing the arriving heroes, Blastaar attacked. Following a battle that
also drew in former New Warriors Firestar and Justice and new heroes
Bolt and Aegis, the assembled heroes defeated Blastaar and when they
were unsure what to do with him, Walt Rosen and the Genetech employees
informed the heroes that Bolt's uncontrollable powers had cut their
facility's power. Justice suggested having Aegis drain some of Bolt's
electrical power into himself to re-power the Genetech facility enough
to deposit Blastaar back through Genetech's interdimensional portal.
Shortly after Nova returned from dropping Blastaar off in the Negative
Zone, most of the heroes decided to stay together as a reformed New
Warriors and reporter Brent Cobb of Eyewitness News arrived on the
scene to learn what had happened at Genetech.
(Cable & Deadpool I#8 (fb) - BTS) - Following the
destruction of the mutant Cable's orbiting Graymalkin base, Genetech
acquired the Chronal Vacuum Filter device from the base. Eventually,
the mutant X-Men team hired the mercenary Deadpool to acquire the
objects that had survived Graymalkin's destruction, including the CVF
from Genetech, as part of plan to stop the increasingly powerful Cable
and his ambitions.
(Cable & Deadpool I#8) - Deadpool fought his way
into Genetech, killing several guards as Walt Rosen attempted to escape
in another room, ordering the guards to protect Chronal Vacuum Filter
with their lives. After Deadpool killed all other guards, the remaining
two Genetech guards gave up, apologizing to Rosen as Deadpool caught up
to the CEO head. When Deadpool asked if the CVF device was worth
Rosen's life and he admitted it wasn't but his concern for the device
had to do more with how dangerous the device could be in the wrong
hands. Despite Rosen's warnings that the device could reshape reality
and cause serious damage to the planet, Deadpool reached in and grabbed
the CVF then ran from the Genetech facility, only to be tranquilized
outside the facility by the martial artist Cat. Before the Cat could
acquire CVF for himself, he was blasted aside by the X-Men.

The Marvel Database Wiki states that Genetech is mentioned in Cage I#13 but after reading the issue, I couldn't find any mention of Genetech.

Alston was an employee of Genetech who working on a cure for the mutating Coronary. During one test on Coronary, Alston noticed some strange readings and reported them to Genetech CEO Walt Rosen, who asked Alston to define what he meant by "weird." Alston barely muttered how "weird" was about to define itself before Coronary burst free from his cell and attacked Rosen.
--New Warriors I Annual#4
Chadwick was a Genetech employee who worked on the project of trying to access the Light Dimension. When Chadwick suggested bringing in the criminal Lightmaster, CEO Walt Rosen was reluctant but Chadwick assured Rosen that proper precautions would be taken. After Genetech arranged to have Lightmaster released into their custody in exchange for a shortened prison sentence for the criminal, Lightmaster escaped and used Genetech's computers to track down the light-powered Dagger to build his power. Chadwick was subsequently berated by Walt Rosen for failing to take the proper precautions he had promised and Chadwick was sent to retrieve Lightmaster with the help of Genetech's Light Brigade. Encountering Cloak and Dagger as they defeated Lightmaster, Chadwick clashed with Cloak, who opted to keep Lightmaster inside the Dark Dimension, and when Dagger convinced Cloak to release the now-skeletal Lightmaster, Chadwick had the Light Brigade check Lightmaster's vitals before bringing him into Genetech custody. Chadwick then commented that he should have Cloak and Dagger arrested but Cloak replied that Chadwick wouldn't, as Chadwick's own actions weren't exactly legal.
Dr. Casciola was a scientist working on Genetech's interdimensional portal. Once the portal was completed, Genetech activated it and the Negative Zone's Blastaar emerged, prompting the cowardly Dr. Casciola to ask if they would be spared if they bowed to Blastaar. The gruff Blastaar informed Dr. Casciola that he would make no promises and Casciola and the other Genetech quickly bowed.
Dr. Rudy was one of the scientists working on Genetech's interdimensional portal. Once the portal was completed and activated, Dr. Rudy monitored it for roughly ten minutes while sarcastically grumbling that CEO Walt Rosen, who was recording the activation, spent most of the talking time on the recording. When Rosen turned the video onto Dr. Rudy, Rudy sarcastically joked about finally getting some screen time before noticing the portal acting strangely. The Negative Zone's Blastaar soon emerged from the portal and declared himself the new ruler of Earth. demanding Rudy and the other Genetech staff bow before him.
Holly was an employee of Genetech who joined other employees at a meeting led by CEO Harmon Furmitz and his second-in-command Walt Rosen. When Rosen mentioned the mercenary Alliance of Evil striking a site in Vermont that had energy readings similar to the ones Genetech was currently working with, Holly questioned whether the project they were working on was questionable in nature. Rosen explained to Holly that they weren't sure of anything at that moment before turning the floor over to Furmintz, who assured everyone that Genetech was founded to benefit mankind.
Jinkens was a member of the Genetech board and he was an old college acquaintance with the criminal Mad Thinker. During a board meeting in which Genetech mentioned a desire to gather more data on the heroic New Warriors, Jinkens mentioned his old college acquaintance that had a knack for gathering data on superhumans. CEO Harmon Furmintz asked Jinkens if his old acquaintance was dependable and could gather data discreetly and Jinkens assured Furmintz that his old acquaintance tended to be quite devious in his preparations, noting that he could be quite the veritable "mad thinker."
Frank Leete was head of a portion of Genetech's security. During one shift, Leete became concerned when the Genetech security cameras were disabled and the power went out. Leete immediately ordered a security team to Sector Three to investigate but as soon as the security team entered the hallway, they were attacked by the clone Spidercide. Leete fired on the clone but was quickly webbed up and knocked out, regaining consciousness the next morning when the next security shift arrived. Not long after, Genetech CEO Walt Rosen began an investigation into Spidercide's theft of ribonucleic nanocontagium and he interviewed Frank Leete as part of the investigation. Leete recounted the entire encounter with Spidercide, admitting that he didn't see the actual theft due to being knocked out.
Marissa was a research scientist working for Genetech and helped perform tests on several subjects that incorrectly believed the date was August 27th. She reported her findings to CEO Walt Rosen and Rosen asked if the belief of the incorrect date was related to the powers of Psionex's Mathemanic, who was dealing with his involvement in the recent accidental death of the young Darius Clements. When Rosen became angry and suggested Genetech would catch flack for Mathemanic's actions, Marissa reminded him that Psionex were responsible for their own actions rather than Genetech. Rosen commented on how Psionex had been placed in Genetech custody before flying into a rage and knocking the reports from Marissa's hand. Rosen quickly apologized for losing control of his temper, admitting his feelings that Genetech was still paying for their founder's ridiculous dreams, and Marissa asked what Rosen thought the former CEO Harmon Furmintz would do in the situation. Marissa then asked if Rosen wanted Mathemanic brought to him.
Roger was one of the Genetech employees working on the soil analysis at a school in Queens, New York. When the soil in Genetech's AILEAC unit began displaying strange readings, Roger reported to Rosen moments before the soil came together to form a simulacrum of the cosmic Terrax.
