History:
(Speedball I#8/2) - Monica was a new arrival in Springdale, Connecticut and had her father's chauffeur drive her to Springdale High School. Introducing herself to Robbie Baldwin, David Bealer and Teri Cooper she explained she was new and asked for directions to room 145. This was Robbie's home room and he offered to escort her there. David quickly introduced himself and Teri then mentioned prom was coming up in three days and Robbie didn't have a date. Monica agreed to go to the prom with Robbie and enjoy a double date before the dance with David and Teri.
Three days later, Monica, Robbie, David and Teri went for dinner together at Chez Louis, only to find the maitre'd disputed David's reservation, saying they had no room. Robbie was flung violently out of the restaurant by the maitre'd and transformed into his alter ego Speedball, but it happened so quickly Monica didn't witness the transformation
While Monica wondered where Robbie had gone, three men who were enemies of her father suddenly lunged out and grabbed her then attempted to lead her to a car. Speedball attacked the three men and while Teri enjoyed seeing Speedball stop them, Monica was put off by Speedball's use of violence.
After the three kidnappers were beaten, Senator DeLuise arrived and told Monica they have to return to Washington D.C. so they could testify about the attempted kidnapping. Robbie returned and Monica gave him a goodbye kiss for "not being a macho jerk like every other boy I know!"
