Powers/Abilities: Bozz did not demonstrate any superhuman powers, but he carried a number of hand-blasters in his belt holster.

    He commanded a number of subordinates armed with blaster weapons and with access to airships. He also utilized a number of drone ships.

History:
(Empress#2 (fb) - BTS) - Based out of the spaceport Antares, where he ruled from a palace that was like a fortress, Chief Bozz was subservient to galactic emperor King Morax.bozz-chief-empress-punched

(Empress#1 - BTS) - Aided by her bodyguard Dane Havelock, Queen Emporia fled her husband, King Morax, and taken with her their children, Princess Aine, Prince Adam and Prince Puck.

(Empress#2 (fb) - BTS) - As part of their mission to escape Morax's forces, Havelock planned to travel to the planet Antares and join forces with his old associate Tor Blinder, who possessed Ship, a device that could teleport itself and those around it (including a small ship) to anywhere within its direct line of site.

(Empress#2 (fb) - BTS) - Tor Blinder lost Ship to Chief Bozz in a dice game.

    Bozz had a clamp placed on Ship that prevented it from teleporting away and forced it to follow Bozz's instructions.

(Empress#2) - Bozz bragged to his associates about Ship, noting that it could teleport them anywhere they wanted to go.

(Empress#2 - BTS) - Dane Havelock brought Emporia and her kids to Antares and met with Tor, who informed them that he had lost Ship to Chief Bozz.

(Empress#2 (fb) - BTS) - Knowing of Bozz's allegiance to Morax, Havelock arranged for Emporia and Aine to meet with Bozz, pretending to have been abducted by Havelock whom she had escaped.

(Empress#2) - Bozz greeted the queen and princess royal, noting his pleasure that they had escaped from that lunatic bodyguard, and he assured them that his men were out looking for the others (presumably Adam, Puck and Havelock).

    When Bozz asked if they needed anything in the meantime, Emporia asked that he tell his husband that they were OK. bozz-chief-empress-face-angry

    Princess Aine then showed interest in Ship, asking Bozz if it was one of those old teleporter droids from the One Day War.

    Emporia informed Bozz that her daughter was a warrior, and he asked Bozz if he minded if she took a look, and he allowed this, but as soon as Aine got close enough, she punched Bozz out.

    Dane then flew in an aircraft, shooting down Bozz's guards, and swept up Emporia, Aine and Ship into the aircraft before taking off again.

    Bozz ordered his men to pursue them, but then Tor, who had sneaked into Bozz's palace with Adam and Tuck, started shooting up the place and ordering everyone out. The ensuing chaos inhibited the pursuit of Dane's ship, and Dane personally took out the security drones pursuing them.bozz-chief-empress-death

    As Bozz's security tried to arrest Tor, Dane arrived in the ship, crashing into and incapacitating the guards. Adam then removed the clamp on Ship, and it teleported them away.

(Empress#3) - King Morax arrived on Antares and explained how he ruled by fear, which would not work if it were known that he could not control his wife. Bozz tried to advise him that Antares was one of his most profitable outposts, but Morax told him that he had let his family get away, and an example must be made.

    And then Morax crushed Bozz's head, after which he had the entire city burnt down as a warning to any who might hide his family.

    This was a very enjoyable series. I had owned it but never read it, as I had always focused on the mainstream Marvel Multiverse titles, but this I'm glad this event gave me the impetus to read it.

    All the Millarworld titles, whether or not they were published by Marvel, are genrally set in one of two connected realities. The last issue of Kick Ass volume 3 had some of the characters exiting a movie theater and discussing the appearance of other superheroes around the world since Kick Ass' debut - and the heroes they mention covered most of the Millarworld series. Meanwhile the movie posters covered the rest, confirming those titles to be fictional within Kick Ass' reality. Last year Millarworld did a crossover event called Big Game, which saw them all interact - including characters from Empress. And while facing off against an army of super villains, the heroes got assistance from a neighboring reality, which was the home of almost all the other Millarworld titles that were fictional in that first reality. But the kicker comes from Kick Ass volume 1#4, where a comic shop owner discusses a new title with a customer: 

    "Actually, it's quite an interesting premise. The idea is that in 1985 the Marvel Universe seeped into ours and all their characters visited this reality. The writer said it was a real life incident."

    Millar has confirmed in interviews - this is a reference to 2008's Marvel 1985, and he did indeed intend it to mean that Clyde Wyncham, the Marquis of Death, comes from the same reality. So Nemesis, Superior, Night Club, Secret Service, Hit-Girl, Empress, Wanted, American Jesus, MPH, Huck, Chrononauts, Reborn, Prodigy, The Ambassadors, Starlight, and Magic Order, are all Earth-1219. The other titles are in a reality "One dimension sideways" – Earth-1220, since 1218 is the real world.

Strictly speaking there's probably a third reality, as Big Game involves some time travel that undoes a bunch of deaths (so diverges a new timeline I guess) towards the end of the story. But that's a headache for another day. 

   This profile was completed 01/25/2026, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 25th anniversary 's celebratory event.
