(Pride and Prejudice#1 (fb) - BTS) - Mr. and Mrs. Bennet had five daughters: Jane, Elizabeth/Lizzy, Mary, Catherine/Kitty and Lydia; Lizzy was his favorite, followed by Jane, and he found his younger daughters somewhat frivolous.

(Pride and Prejudice#1 (fb) - BTS) - Mr. Bennet came to consider his wife to be emotional and exhausting, and he no longer enjoyed her company. He spent most of his time in his study, which was his haven from life.bennet-mr-p&p1-glasses-study

(Pride and Prejudice#1) - Mrs. Bennet informed Mr. Bennet that the wealthy Charles Bingley had bought property nearby and insisted that he call on Bingley and that Bingley must marry one of their girls, reminding him that the girls would be left penniless upon his death. bennet-mr-p&p1-upper

(Pride and Prejudice#1 (fb) - BTS) - After teasing his wife for a bit, Mr. Bennet visited Bingley one morning and invited him to come visit his estate.

(Pride and Prejudice#1) - Bingley met with Mr. Bennet and shared a drink with him.

(Pride and Prejudice#1 - BTS) - Mrs. Bennett introduced her daughters to Bingley at the Meryton ball, and he took an interest in Jane.

(Pride and Prejudice#1) - That evening, Mrs. Bennet told Mr. Bennet how Bingley had twice danced with Jane.

    Later, as his youngest daughters were excited by the idea of meeting various soldiers in the militia, Mr. Bennett told Kitty and Lydia that he had long suspected but was now sure that they were the silliest girls in the country. When Mrs. Bennett announced that Jane had been invited to dine with the Bingleys that night, Mr. Bennet asked if he should call for the coach, but Mrs. Bennet insisted that Jane would go on horseback.

(Pride and Prejudice#1 - BTS) - Riding through the rain, Jane took ill and had to stay at the Bingley estate to recover.

(Pride and Prejudice#1) - Receiving a letter to this effect, Mrs. Bennet was very pleased, assuming it would give Jane and Mr. Bingley the time to grow closer. Mr. Bennet teased her that if her daughter should die, it would be a comfort to know that it was all in pursuit of Mr. Bingley and under her orders.

(Pride and Prejudice#1 - BTS) - Jane eventually recovered and returned home.

(Pride and Prejudice#2) - At lunch, Mr. Bennet advised Mrs. Bennet that he was expecting his cousin -- whom he had never met before -- William Collins, who was hoping to heal the breach between their families; Mr. Bennet reminded that -- due to the nature that his own inheritance could only be passed to male heirs -- Collins might gain the ownership of their estate upon his demise.

    That evening, Mr. Bennet ate and drank quietly while his wife engaged Collins. After dinner, as Collins read to the family from Fordyce's Sermons, Mr. Bennet quietly told Lizzy that Collins was as absurd and self-important as he had hoped.

    At a ball sometime later, Mr. Bennet intervened when Mary several times demonstrated her weak skills on the pianoforte, telling her, "that will do extremely well child. Let the other ladies have time to exhibit."

    After Lizzy had rebuffed Collins' marriage proposal, Mrs. Bennet tried to make Mr. Bennet force Lizzy to accept. When Mrs. Bennet stated that if Lizzy did not accept, she would never see her again, Mr. Bennet advised Lizzy that she would have to be a stranger to one of her parents, because he would never see her again if she accepted the proposal. Although outraged, Mrs. Bennet did not carry through with her threat.

(Pride and Prejudice#3) - After Sir William Lucas reported to the Bennet family that Collins was now engaged his his daughter Charlotte, Mrs. Bennet complained in private to Mr. Bennet that it was intolerable that Charlotte might become mistress of the house and that she would have to make way for her. Mr. Bennet told her not to gloomy things and to hope for better things; he further teased that he may outlive her, eliminating that concern.

    When Jane was distraught over being seemingly rejected by Bingley, Mr. Bennet told Lizzy, "Next to being married, a girl likes to be crossed in love now and then. It gives her distinction." After suggesting Lizzy marry George Wickham, he told her, "Whatever befalls you, you at least have an affectionate mother who will make the most of it."

(Pride and Prejudice#3 - BTS) - During Christmas that year, Mrs. Bennet's brother, Edward Gardiner, and his wife visited.

    Just after New Year, Mr. Bennet presumably attended the wedding of Charlotte and Williams Collins.

(Pride and Prejudice#4) - When Lydia prepared to go to Brighton with the colonel's wife, Mrs. Forrester, Lizzy advised her father that Lydia's imprudence would be worse when the temptations were greater than at home. Mr. Bennet countered that her family would be less affected by Lydia's improprieties when she was away from home.     Mr. Bennet sat quietly as Mr. Wickham and three others dined with his family the night before the regiment was to leave.

(Pride and Prejudice#4 (fb) - BTS) - Lydia ran off with George Wickham.

(Pride and Prejudice#5 (fb) - BTS) - Shocked by this, Mr. Bennet was unable to speak for 10 minutes; meanwhile, Mrs. Bennet was in hysterics.

(Pride and Prejudice#4 (fb) - BTS) - Mr. Bennet followed their trail to London.

(Pride and Prejudice#5 - BTS) - Mrs. Bennet lamented that Mr. Bennet might fight and be killed by Wickham, after which the Collinses would gain their property and turn them out. Her brother, Edward, subsequently went to London to assist Mr. Bennet and keep him out of trouble.

(Pride and Prejudice#5) - Returning home from London, Mr. Bennet blamed himself for having allowed the situation to happen. He subsequently assured Kitty that she would be prevented from making the same mistakes and that she would attend no balls and meet no soldiers, "If you are a good girl for the next 10 years, I'll take you to see a play."

    The next day, Mr. Bennet received a letter that Edward had found Lydia and Wickham, who had no plans of getting married without payment. Mr. Bennett correctly reasoned that someone had paid off Wickham already for him to be asking so little.

    The now-engaged Lydia and Wickham visited the Bennet house soon after.

(Pride and Prejudice#5 - BTS) - As Lizzy alone soon learned that Mr. Darcy had paid off Wickham's debts, and he also withdrew his previous concerns about Jane to Bingley.

(Pride and Prejudice#5 - BTS) - Bingley and Jane were engaged. Having previously misjudged Darcy and with his having made up for his previous prideful behavior, Lizzy soon after accepted his marriage proposal as well.

(Pride and Prejudice#5) - "Alas, the accomplishment of her desires in three of her daughters becoming engaged did not turn Mrs. Bennet into a sensible, amiable, well-informed woman. Perhaps it was lucky for her husband -- who would not have relished domestic felicity in such an unusual form -- that she was still occasionally nervous and invariably silly."

Pride and Prejudice is a straight adaptation of the Jane Austen novel. I've never read the book, nor seen any of the movie adaptations (except for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which is clearly the best version anyway so why bother with the others?). As such, my summary is cribbed from what I've picked up through osmosis, and I can't vouch 100% for detailed accuracy. Set in the early 19th Century (so the modern day when it was published), it's about the Bennet family, low level landed gentry. Mr. Bennet has five adult/near adult daughters, but the inheritance he got from his father only allows their money to passed down to male heirs, so he's basically trying to marry at least one girl off ASAP to someone with enough cash to support all of them. The main characters are the second eldest daughter, Elizabeth, and her eventual husband Mr Darcy; the Prejudice is mostly her, as she jumps to a very negative initial first impression of him, and the Pride is mostly him, as he appears (but isn't really) to be haughty and full of himself.

     I don't see any reason why Pride and Prejudice could not have occurred in the Earth-616 Reality.
     I also don't know why neither Mr. nor Mrs. Bennet ever received first names; even they called each other Mr. Bennet and Mrs. Bennet, never by their first names. Their marriage had long lost its love.
