Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Talisman of Abraxas takes power from the deity Abraxas, who is said to be a force of both good and evil. When worn by the Sub-Mariner, it created a sense of emotional balance.
History:
(Marvel Team-Up II#8) - The Sub-Mariner found his moods particularly
difficult to manage and he'd lost his ability to breathe underwater.
Consulting with Dr. Strange, his friend identified his recent journey
between realities (on Franklin Richards' Counter-Earth) as responsible
for his troubles. Dr. Strange gave Namor the Talisman of Abraxas to
help balance his equilibrium and suggested Namor return to his roots
and follow his rage.
(Avengers III#4) - Namor wore the Talisman of Abraxas on a visit to Avengers Mansion to consider whether he was interested in rejoining the Avengers. Namor informed the others that he was too busy to even consider the request.
(Marvel Team-Up II#9) - When Captain America requested Namor to assist him on a mission to Atlantis, Namor refused. As the Captain persisted, Namor removed the Talisman of Abraxas, as he would need his emotions unchecked in order to aid Atlantis.

It sure seemed like the Talisman of Abraxas was meant to be part of Namor's status quo, at least until the storyline in Marvel Team-Up was over, but he wound up casting it aside almost immediately.
