History:
(Gunsmoke Western#66/5 (fb) - BTS) - Younger Yancy
committed a bank robbery around Abiline and was wanted by the local
marshal. Younger fled into the hills with his gang. The virtuous
sheriff of a small town managed to arrest Younger and fearlessly took
him into town with the intention to alert the marshal.
(Gunsmoke Western#66/5) - The townsfolk thought their sheriff was crazy for arresting Younger when his gang was nearby and they expected his gang to ride in and rescue him while causing much damage, but the sheriff was a firm believer that no person was above the law. The sheriff marched Younger through the main street and locked the villain in a cell. Younger threatened retribution when his men came to rescue him. The gang soon arrived and foolishly stood in the open, shooting at the jail, while the sheriff stood protected by the jail's walls and fired back. Inspired by their sheriff, the townsfolk opened fire on Younger's gang too and the villains surrendered. Not realizing what had happened, Younger expected release from his cell, but was startled when he was instead instructed to stand back to make room for his surviving gang men.
Comments: Created by Stan Lee & Steve Ditko.
It's safe to say that the marshal in Abiline was
contacted and Younger was put on trial with his gang.
Presumably if there's Younger Yancy, then there's an Older Yancy too -- older brother or his father.
The sheriff states the marshal in "Abiline" wants Younger, but the Texan
town (now city) of "Abilene"
is spelled slightly differently. Whether deliberate misspelling or not,
presumably the reference is that they're in old Texas.

:
Younger Yancy has no known connections to:
The noble sheriff of a small town found out that the
notorious bank robber Younger Yancy was nearby and wanted by the
marshal in Abiline. The sheriff managed to arrest Younger and marched
him into town, ignoring the threat of Younger's gang in the nearby
hills. While the townsfolk thought the sheriff's arrest of Younger was
reckless, given the imminent threat of the dangerous gang riding in to
rescue Younger, the townsfolk were nevertheless inspired by his
dedication to the law and that no person was above the law, The sheriff
locked Younger up in a cell and brushed off Younger's taunts. The sheriff's
assistant Ben reckoned there were about ten in Younger's gang and soon they
rode in, but foolishly stood in the open, shooting at the jail, while
the sheriff stood protected by the jail's walls and fired back.
Inspired by their sheriff, the townsfolk opened fire on Younger's gang
too and the villains surrendered. Not realizing what had happened, Younger
expected release from his cell, but was startled when the sheriff
marched in the surviving gang men.
