History:

(X-Men '97: Strike Files I#1 - BTS) - Growing up in a dystopian world ruled by mutant supremacist Apocalypse, the young man known as Tetherblood befriended Nathan Summer, the Askani'son, who was destined to one day destroy Apocalypse. A loyal friend, Tetherblood would follow Nathan to different outposts across the land to help locals from Apocalypse's oppressive Prelates and Cyber-Hounds.

(X-Men '97: Strike Files I#1) - During one of their adventures Tetherblood and the Askani'son came across another outpost terrorized by a horned and red-skinned Prelate wielding a dangerous energy-whip. Unable to stand by and watch the Prelate murder an old woman, Nathan stepped in, using his telekinesis to render the Cyber-Hounds inert after which he smashed them into the Prelate, thus ending the threat. Glad his friend helped the people, Tetherblood joked that a little warning would've been nice after which he encouraged Nathan to join him and leave the outposts fearing Apocalypse's forces would soon arrive in force. However right before leaving an elder man calling himself Old Lob claimed they would now all be punished by Apocalypse for their intervention, Tetherblood tried to convince the man there was no alternative than fight other than waiting for the shadow of Apocalypse's boot to fall down on them. As expected Old Lob would later seek out the Prelates to provide them information on the Askani'son only to be killed in response.

(X-Men '97: Strike Files I#2) - That night, Tetherblood was seen sleeping next to Nathan at a campfire when Nathan received a message from a dying Mother Askani to reassure Nathan he was loved. Shocked by the message, Nathan woke up and immediately woke up Tetherblood telling him they had to leave now. Racing towards Clan Askani's encampment, Nathan and Tetherblood arrived after Apocalypse's forces had rendered the encampment to rubble. Mother Askani then appeared to have died in Nathan's arms.

Tetherblood, a well-known member of the Clan Chosen was the one member who didn't appear when the group first appeared in X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Time Fugitives - Part I" (December 11, 1993). The other members of the Clan Chosen who appeared are Boak, Dawnsilk, Tyler Dayspring, Hope, and even Garrison Kane.

When, in 2015's Secret Wars, the Multiverse was destroyed following the incursions of planets it appeared as if Reality-92131 was drafted onto Battleworld as the Westchester domain. However, this has since been debunked. As such the reality seen in the two volumes of X-Men '92 (2015 and 2016-2017) now have their own reality-designation of Earth-15730. The X-Men '92: House of XCII (2022) series was inspired by both the animated series and Hickman's House of X run but is its own separate reality. The limited series X-Men '97 (2024), however, is Reality-92131 and bridges the gap between the original X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon and the new X-Men '97: The Animated Series cartoon.
