History:
(X-Men '97: Strike Files I#1 - BTS) - Growing up in a dystopian world ruled by mutant supremacist Apocalypse, the man known as Ch'vayre became a powerful prelate commander working for Apocalypse and commanding other prelates and Cyber-Hounds in search of the Askani'son.
(X-Men '97: Strike Files I#1) - Following an attack on a prelate by the Askani'son, a man calling himself Old Lob requested an audience with Commander Ch'vayre, claiming to have witnessed the incident. Aboard a prelate cruiser, Ch'vayre listened as Old Lob recounted what he knew about the Askani'son, hoping to be rewarded for providing information to Apocalypse's forces. Ch'vayre instructed one of his prelates to give the old man his reward, only for the prelate to execute him. Ch'vayre then ordered a full garrison to be dispatched to the Askani'son's last known coordinates and instructed his forces to perform invasive psi-scans on all refugees in the surrounding camps, determined to locate and eradicate Clan Askani.
(X-Men '97: Strike Files I#2) - Ch'vayre's plan proved successful, as his forces soon discovered Clan Askani's location and arrived with three massive prelate cruisers to attack. Before commencing the assault, Ch'vayre addressed the clan from his flagship, demanding their surrender or that they face the wrath of Lord Apocalypse. Unbeknownst to him, Mother Askani used the time to prepare for the attack, allowing the other members of the clan to escape safely. Believing he had given sufficient warning, Ch'vayre ordered a surface bombardment to obliterate all traces of Clan Askani from the planet. Mother Askani was critically wounded in the attack, but before succumbing to her injuries, she reminded the young Nathan Summers of who he was and urged him to persevere, fulfill his destiny, and one day destroy Apocalypse.
Comments: Created by Scott Lobdell, Gene Ha, and Al Vey;
adapted by Steve Foxe and Marcio Fiorito.
The Ch'vayre seen in the issue's of X-Men '97: Strike Files certainly has a different build then his Earth-4935 counterpart who is 12'8" and 1675 lbs.
When, in 2015's Secret Wars, the Multiverse was destroyed following the incursions of planets it appeared as if Reality-92131 was drafted onto Battleworld as the Westchester domain. However, this has since been debunked. As such the reality seen in the two volumes of X-Men '92 (2015 and 2016-2017) now have their own reality-designation of Earth-15730. The X-Men '92: House of XCII (2022) series was inspired by both the animated series and Hickman's House of X run but is its own separate reality. The limited series X-Men '97 (2024), however, is Reality-92131 and bridges the gap between the original X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon and the new X-Men '97: The Animated Series cartoon.
