POWER VEST

Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Power Vest is an apparatus worn over the user's upper torso and completely covering both arms. The Power Vest grants its user superhuman strength, sufficient to crush stone.
History:
(Captain America I#110) - When Madame Hydra and her Hydra operatives sought to poison Manhattan's water supply from the sewers, Captain America intervened to stop them. After his fellow operatives defeated Captain America, a Hydra agent wearing the Power Vest interceded to restrain the Captain, gripping his arms with the vest's enhanced gauntlets. However, Captain America swung his head backwards and hit the Hydra agent under his chin, causing him to lose his grip.
Recovering, the Hydra agent swung his fist at Captain America but the hero dodged him and instead his first smashed a hole into a nearby wall. The Hydra agent stepped on Captain America's shield to prevent him from retrieving it, then drove his knee into the Captain's chin, but Captain America grabbed his shield and drove it into the Hydra agent, smashing him through the wall. Captain America ran through the hole he'd created with the Hydra agent in pursuit.
Captain America swiftly defeated the Hydra agent then dressed in his uniform and Power Vest, putting them on over his own clothes. Pretending to be the Hydra agent, he returned to Madame Hydra and boasted he'd killed Captain America and claimed his shield as a trophy, but when the Captain's sidekick Bucky (Rick Jones) appeared, Captain America halted his facade to aid his friend. Captain America began fighting the other Hydra operatives and soon discarded the Power Vest.
