cybernetic alteration, the man who would be Godshredder possessed no
known superhuman abilities. His severely mauled form was incorporated in
the frame of an advanced cybernetic lifeform that was outfitted with
several weapons systems the Reavers deemed too dangerous for themselves.
The weaponry included a heat razor beam and a sonic liquefier that used
soundwaves to sear off human flesh in seconds. Godshredder fired his
weapons from his mouth. Godshredder also had a swarm of mind controlling
drones that could target and take over the minds of their victims.
Godshredder can control his pawns and speak directly through them. The
Godshredder armor came equipped with machinery that helped to preserve
and stabilize his vital signs.
Height: Unrevealed (approximately 6'6")
Weight: Unrevealed (approximately 450lbs.)
Eyes: Red

History:
(Uncanny X-Men I#133 (fb) - BTS) - The future Godshredder worked
security for the Hellfire Club on the night the X-Men infiltrated their
New York City location. After the Inner Circle's Harry Leland had left
Wolverine to die in the sewers, Godshredder and his colleagues Wade
Cole, Angelo Macon, Murray Reese and Rosen were sent into the club's
sub-basements to retrieve the X-Man's body.
(Uncanny X-Men I#133 - BTS) - Wolverine made short work of the Hellfire
Club guards, using his claws to maul and mutilate all but Rosen who he
interrogated.
(X-Men Outback I#2 (fb) - BTS) - While most of the Hellfire guards lost
at least one limb that day, the man who would become Godshredder was
hurt the most. Near death, he was saved by Donald Pierce, the Hellfire
Club's White Bishop who was also a cyborg. Pierce turned the wounded
guards into cybernetic lifeforms and let them join the Reavers.
(X-Men Outback I#2 (fb) - BTS) - Not much of Godshredder's human body
proved salvageable. Reduced to little more than a torso, he was encased
in a large, armored form that helped support his life. Now known as
Godshredder, his new appearance was too upsetting for even the other
Reavers and Donald Pierce decided to give Godshredder a special task.
Pierce put him in suspended animation underneath the Reavers' Australian
base. Outfitted with 'nightmare tech', weaponry too dangerous for
regular Reavers to use, Godshredder became the Reaver of last resort,
someone powerful enough to avenge his teammates in case of a
catastrophy.
(X-Men Outback I#2 - BTS) - Madelyne Pryor accidentally triggered
Godshredder's activation sequence when she tried to hack the Reavers'
advanced underground computer complex.
(X-Men Outback I#2) - Godshredder instantly became aware
the X-Men had taken over the Reavers' base. He sent out a number of mind
controlling gnat-drones that managed to mentally enslave all of the
mutants, except for Wolverine (see comments).
(X-Men Outback I#2 - BTS) - Delighted by the opportunity to pit the
'butcher' against his own teammates, Godshredder forced Logan to fight
the other X-Men. He used his control over his victims to speak through
their mouths and taunt Wolverine who was having a hard enough time
trying not to hurt his friends while he neutralized them.
(X-Men Outback I#2) - After dispatching all the other X-Men, Wolverine
came face to face with Godshredder who unleashed the full force of his
armaments against him. Both the heat razor beam and the sonic liquefier
tore the flesh off Logan's body, but he recovered quickly and ripped
open the Godshredder armor. There, he came face to face with what was
left of the man he had torn apart years earlier. Feeling pity for him,
Wolverine ended Godshredder's existence.
(X-Men Outback I#2 - BTS) - Godshredder's death freed the X-Men from his
gnats' control. They woke up with only vague, dreamlike recollections of
the events, not even remembering Godshredder at all.
(X-Men Outback I#2) - Wolverine quietly gave Godshredder a proper burial
in the outback, figuring it was the least he could do considering their
past.
Comments: Created by Steve Orlando, Stephen Segovia.
Writing continuity inserts isn't easy, but Steve Orlando
pulled it off with Godshredder in X-Men Outback. We only ever
know what happened to Cole, Reese and Macon in Uncanny X-Men I#133,
but there were more Hellfire goons on the cover. It makes sense that one
of them could be Godshredder. It wasn't made clear how much of his human
form remained after Wolverine and Pierce were done with him, but it
looked like he was little more than a head, two lungs, a pair of
kidneys, some intestines and a single hand. God, did Logan shred him.
The X-Men became invisible to technology after Roma resurrected them,
but the Reavers' computer system could somehow always register them.
Guess that explains why Godshredder's gnat drones were able to spot and
take them over.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Godshredder should not be confused with
Godshredder's gnats
Godshredder could emit a swarm of small cybernetic security drones he called his gnats. The devices were able to detect and track intruders and could even infiltrate and rewrite their targets wetware, effectively controlling their minds. Godshredder unleashed the gnats when he was activated by the Reavers' computer system. They took control of the X-Men, but proved no match for Wolverine's healing factor. Godshredder sent his gnat-controlled teammates against the clawed Canadian, who was able to swiftly defeat them. Following Godshredder's death, the gnats lost their hold over the X-Men.
