History:
(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Red Dawn" - BTS) - Darkstar was a powerful mutant who served as a government operative for the Soviet Union. Even after the collapse of the Soviet republic, she remained loyal to the aging generals who still clung to its former ideology and authority.
(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Red Dawn" (fb) - BTS) - Driven by a genuine belief in protecting and uplifting the people, Darkstar was manipulated by the old generals, who exploited her idealism to advance their own agenda. Convinced that their plan would restore stability and unity, she was sent to the Kumudski Valley to assist in the release of the living weapon Omega Red from suspended animation.
(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Red Dawn") - Darkstar aided Soviet forces in crossing into the formerly Soviet-controlled Kumudski Valley and helped infiltrate the facility holding Omega Red. While she focused on freeing him, Soviet troops launched an assault on the Republic's capital, devastating the city and its people. Upon his release, Omega Red reveled in the renewed chaos and the prospect of restoring the Soviet Empire through force.
(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Red Dawn") - Darkstar returned to the generals and confirmed that Omega Red had been successfully released, reporting that the Republic's capital had fallen and that the first phase of their plan was complete. However, she cautioned them that Omega Red had proven uncontrollable in the past and might not remain loyal to their cause.
(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Red Dawn") - Darkstar later accompanied Omega Red as he moved to dismantle the government of a former Soviet state. When Omega Red brutally injured a member of parliament, Darkstar intervened, beginning to question his actions and motives.
That night, after Omega Red was confronted and defeated by the Russian mutant Colossus, with the assistance of the X-Man Jubilee, Darkstar fully turned against him. Disgusted by the suffering Omega Red inflicted upon civilians, she chose to oppose him and sided with the X-Men. Knowing how Omega Red had once been imprisoned, Darkstar sought out Storm and explained that extreme cold had previously subdued him. Storm summoned a powerful winter storm, though Omega Red managed to blast her from the sky. Colossus restrained Omega Red long enough for Storm to unleash a devastating ice storm, freezing him once more. Darkstar then used her powers to pull Colossus to safety, reuniting him with his little sister Illyana.
With Omega Red neutralized, Darkstar confronted the Soviet generals directly. Making a dramatic entrance, she declared that the old order would never return. Seizing the generals with her powers, she announced that their reign of terror was over. With their removal from power, the former Soviet states were finally able to begin rebuilding in peace.
(X-Men '97: the Animated Series cartoon - "Tolerance is Extinction - Part III" - BTS) - At an unrevealed point in time, Darkstar joined the government sanctioned Winter Guard alongside Crimson Dynamo and former adversary Omega Red.
(X-Men '97: the Animated Series cartoon - "Tolerance is Extinction - Part III") - Darkstar and the Winter Guard were present in Russia when both Sentinel hybrid Bastion and mutant terrorist Magneto posed a global threat. After Earth's magnetic field was restored, Bastion regained control over his Prime Sentinels and turned them against both mutants and humans, believing humanity needed protection from itself. Consequently, a large army of Prime Sentinels descended upon Russia and other parts of the world. Darkstar and the Winter Guard engaged the Prime Sentinels in battle to keep the Russian president safe.
During Bastion's assault, the Russian president and other world leaders participated in a video call with United States President Robert Kelly. While many urged Kelly to deploy the Magneto Protocols and destroy Asteroid M's gravity core. Despite warnings, President Kelly decided to bomb Asteroid M's gravity core, risking an extinction-level event by potentially causing the asteroid to crash onto Earth. Ultimately, the X-Men successfully stopped Bastion's assault and prevented the fall of Magneto's Asteroid M. After their victory, the mutant heroes disappeared from the planet.

Darkstar was voiced by Elizabeth Rukavina in the 1993 episode.
When, in 2015's Secret Wars, the Multiverse was destroyed following the incursions of planets it appeared as if Reality-92131 was drafted onto Battleworld as the Westchester domain. However, this has since been debunked. As such the reality seen in the two volumes of X-Men '92 (2015 and 2016-2017) now have their own reality-designation of Earth-15730. The X-Men '92: House of XCII (2022) series was inspired by both the animated series and Hickman's House of X run but is its own separate reality. The limited series X-Men '97 (2024), however, is Reality-92131 and bridges the gap between the original X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon and the new X-Men '97: The Animated Series cartoon.
