CARNIVOROUS PLANTS OF SKORNHEIM
Classification: Extradimensional (Asgard) flora
Location/Base of Operations: Skornheim
Known Members: Inapplicable
Affiliations: Morgan Le Fay
Enemies: Loki (Laufeyson), Magdalene of Earth-9201, Swordsman (Philip Jarvert) of Earth-921, Thor (Odinson)
First Appearance: Journey into Mystery I#116 (May, 1965)
Powers/Abilities: They were actually not one species, but several types of presumably semi-sentient flesh-eating plants native to Skornheim. Some of them were vine-like, others comparable to Venus Flytraps from Earth. They differed in size, but most of them were way larger than a person. What they all had in common were flesh-rending teeth inside jaw-like structures that could trap their prey until they were digested.
History:
(Journey into Mystery I#116) - Odin sent Thor and Loki as part of a contest to Skornheim and Loki made it to the area where the carnivorous plants existed first. He used a Norn Stone that repelled any form of plant life from approaching him to get through the area.
When Thor arrived in the area he fought his way through some of the plants until he made it to a river. He swam for miles to make it through the forest were the carnivorous plants resided.

(Avengers III#1) - The Carnivorous Plants from Skornheim were among the magical beings summoned by Morgan Le Fay from Asgard to Earth in a plot against the Avengers. They were fought in Manhattan's Central Park by Swordsman and Magdalene until they suddenly vanished again. |
