Powers/Abilities: Carcass is a powerful malevolent presence and demonic mystic with the power to travel through otherworldly realms like the Land of the Dead inhabited by the souls of the noble Sarcee natives. His power is absolute in these otherworldly realms and can re-create the realm at will, transforming the inhabitants into an army of demonic-looking creatures who fall under his command. Carcass himself was vulnerable to the powers, and those powered by Shaman's medicine pouch although it's likely this was because it's an Sarcee artifact and he was in the Land of the Dead, the Sarcee afterlife.

Carcass appears as a being wearing dark pink robes with a body made of vivid fuchsia-colored bones which he can extent to his will, for instance on his hands, shoulders and head. Carcass communicates in a peculiar way of segmented collage-like letters which form separate words although people around him seem to hear him as any other regular human.

Height: Unrevealed (approximately 6'8", presumably variable see comments)
Weight: Unrevealed, presumably variable see comments
Eyes: Glowing yellow, no visible irises
Hair: None

History:

(Alpha Flight I#125 (fb) - BTS) - A disciple of Khaos, the demonic mystic Carcass worked to disrupt the Goddess' path of glory and terminate all of reality, something which he called the Unmaking. To achieve his goal, Carcass made his way to the sacred Land of the Dead. Carcass used his powers to re-create the Land of the Dead in his twisted image, turning the souls of the Sarcee natives into demonic creatures to serve as his army.

(Alpha Flight I#125 - BTS) - Carcass' plans didn't go unnoticed as powerful mystic, Shaman (Michael Twoyoungmen) sensed his presence while in the Goddess' Paradise Omega. Determined to stop Carcass, Shaman offered his services to the Goddess. After which he set out to assemble a special strike team consisting of Box, Diamond Lil, Nemesis and Wyre. However, in order to enter the Land of the Dead, Shaman killed his team, a feature he refrained from telling them.

(Alpha Flight I#125) - From his throne, made of skulls, Carcass witnessed the arrival of Shaman's strike force and send his army of dead souls to oppose them. Carcass was impressed when he noticed Shaman's team easily tore through his forces, complimenting his choice of warriors deeming them unfettered by moral restraint. But realizing they drew power from Shaman, Carcass used his powers to reanimate Michael's deceased wife Katheryne who in turn seemingly destroyed Shaman's pouch leaving the strike team helpless to deal with the dead souls. Hoping Shaman would help them escape, the mystic was forced to reveal to his team he'd killed them in order to gain access to the Land of the Dead.

(Alpha Flight I#126) - Carcass was amused to see Wyre turned on Shaman for lying to them after which the assassin turned his sights on Carcass himself. However, while Wyre tried to use his razor-sharp claws on the demonic wizard, his hand dissolved upon touching his skin. Next, Diamond Lil used her superhuman strength to punch Carcass's head off his body after which the demonic mystic forced Lil to hurl out her own bones after which he turned Madison Jeffries body into metal. But before Carcass could attack Nemesis, a seemingly dying Shaman (spending his life-force keeping the vessels of his friends alive) urged Carcass to stop hurting his friends and torture him instead. Confident of his victory, Carcass turned his back on Shaman after which the Canadian hero revealed he still contained the powers of his pouch and attacked the demonic mystic. The two mystics went head to head after which Shaman's friends joined the fray and helped him gained the upper hand and trap Carcass in a crystal of pure order. Carcass, however, fought the incantation causing the mixture of order and chaos to explode, seemingly killing Carcass. With Carcass gone, the Land of the Dead soon reverted back to normal while Shaman and his friends returned to the land of then living.

Comments: Created by Simon Furman and Jim Reddington.

As a master of reality and able to shape any otherworldly realm into his twisted image it's likely he also chooses how he himself appears to others. Therefore I've added that his height and weight will most likely be variable. It's impossible to determine his weight as we don't know if weight would be applied in the afterlife of the Sarcee natives and what a large pile of bones would weigh or if his pink form would hold any weight.

Carcass was described as being a disciple of Khaos. However, it's been unrevealed if Khaos was an actual character, the cosmic entity and embodiment of chaos, Lord Chaos or something else altogether.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Carcass has no known connections to

Carcass' army of dead souls

The noble souls of the deceased Sarcee natives who were transformed by the malevolent mystic Carcass into his demonic army.
While under Carcass' influence, the dead souls fought Shaman and his strike team. The souls of the Sarcee natives were presumably released when Carcass was seemingly destroyed.
