History:

(2001: A Space Odyssey I#8) - X-3 was one of the X-Model robots constructed by Dr. Oliver Broadhurst at the Broadhurst Research Center. Unfortunately, X-35, like nearly all of its fellow robots, proved have an unstable robotic brain, suffering from an existential crisis which turned them violent.

    X-35 resisted Colonel Kragg's security guards, questioning what it was. Breaking free of the guards who tried to restrain it, X-35 confronted a guard who blasted it with a flamethrower, but the flame had no effect on X-35 as it continued to question why it had been built.

    Realizing X-35 had proved a failure, Dr. Broadhurst resolved he would have to activate the explosive package he'd planted inside each of the X-Model robots. The explosive set off the "nova effect" within X-35 interior mechanisms, completely obliterating him in the midst of his fight with the guards.

    X-35 wasn't visible in 2020 Machine Man I#1-2 but might have been among the X-Models which Arno Stark rebuilt.

    X-35's rampage and destruction was also shown in a flashback in Machine Man I#10.
