History:
(X-Men Legacy#254 (fb) - BTS) - Xanthimi was uninhabited until, at some point, "some crazy anaphract from the Do Sha sect" traveled there.

(X-Men Legacy#254 (fb) - BTS) - After the Gul Damar space station's gravitic flux generator was damaged due to battle between the Shi'ar and the Grad Nan Holt, the sun's gravity was dramatically affected, presumably pulling the first four planets in its orbit into it.

(X-Men Legacy#254) - Xanthimi was pulled into its sun.

(X-Men Legacy#254 - BTS) - Observing this from Grad Nan Holt, Glitter, one of Sovel Redhand's band of space pirates, advised that this would happen to them soon if they did not move quickly to evacuate.

Xanthimi was in the same star system as the Gul Damar space station was originally located.

I initially ASSumed that Gul Damar was within the Shi'ar galaxy, as it was run by Shi'ar.

There is some confusion as to the location of the Shi'ar galaxy, as illustrated in the comments section here, but it is most consistently discussed as being part of another galaxy than the Milky Way.
M33, which is the leading suspect for the Shi'ar Empire's location, is 3 million light years from the Milky Way.

To further confuse matters, in X-Men Legacy#254, Magneto describes the Shi'ar as ruling a large and distant part of "our galaxy," which would refer to the Milky Way galaxy.

Magneto may well have been confused about the location of the Shi'ar Empire
But, then again, the Shi'ar may rule a "large" portion of the Milky Way. What's large? Texas? Alaska? Russia? Asia? Jupiter? a solar system? some sections including multiple solar systems?

Somewhere (I can't recall where) identifies the Gul Damar space station as being 40,000 light years from Earth.

As the Milky Way galaxy is about 87,000 light years in diameter, so that 40,000 light years distance would place the Gul Damar station within the Milky Way, regardless of whether the writers thought the Shi'ar galaxy was supposed to be the Milky Way or not...

"Some crazy anaphract from the Do Sha sect"

I don't know what an anaphract is, nor have I heard of "Do Sha," but from the context, I would guess it a priest or cultist from some extremist portion of some religion...
But, is there something more specific this might mean?
Is it some homage to some other storyline (like Gul Damar is an homage to characters from Star Trek's Deep Space Nine)?

Assuming it's not just word salad, it may be that anaphract comes from ana phraktos (like cataphract, a type of armored horseman, which comes from kataphraktos, "wearing armor" or literally "enclosed, fenced in") then ana (up or against) phraktos (fence) - so "outside the fence" or more generally I would guess an outsider. And Do Sha sect might be referring to Do Sha (629-700), a Japanese scholar who brought the concept of Zen to Japan from China.
