History:lerou-philip-bloodstone-considering-cylinder

(Rampaging Hulk magazine#5/2 (fb) - BTS) - When he wasn't bickering with Russian (see comment) officials, European correspondent Philip collected the stories of the people of Moscow.

(Rampaging Hulk magazine#5/2) - Seated at what appeared to be a coffee shop or some other restaurant and sipping coffee while reading the newspaper (a man walked past him and dropped a small cylindrical container onto the table in front of him. A pair of men -- whom Lerou presumed to be Russian security (see comments) -- then apparently arrested the man, or at least took him into custody. Staring at the cylinder, Philip wondered what he had gotten himself mixed up with.

Comments: Created by John Warner, Val Mayerik, and Bob Wiacek.

This was a 5 panel (including one showing only the exterior of the Kremlin) interlude (the second interlude in a row) as the Conspiracy plotted against Bloodstone. The cylindrical container was the key to some story (perhaps it was microfiche or rolled up images or notes, although the sliding timescale would allow it to be a thumb drive or something) I don't believe it was ever resolved or followed up on, as the main plot was dramatically resolved in Rampaging Hulk magazine#8/2.

Lerou or LeRou? It's impossible to tell when the story used all capital letters...

At the time of the story in the real world, Russia was part of the USSR, which broke up in 1991; the sliding timescale has caused the 13-15 years of the "modern era" to slip well past 1991, and so it was just Russia.

Similarly, while Lerou noted that he thought the men were KGB, the KGB broke apart in 1991 as well. Since they were within Moscow, I would think that this would be the modern Federal Security Service (FSB). Then again, it was only Lerou's assumption that the men were Russian agents.

In some unexplained way, he was intended to have some connection to Ulysses Bloodstone.

(Rampaging Hulk magazine#5/2) - An unidentified man with an unrevealed story was present in some sort of coffee shop in Moscow, Russia. He discretely dropped some sort of cylindrical container (which would apparently reveal information about his story) onto the table in front of Russian correspondent Philip Lerou, who did not know him. Almost immediately thereafter a pair of what Lerou assumed to be Russian agents (see comments) grabbed the man by the arms and took him away.

Note: See comments, but that's pretty much all we know.

Had he planned to give the information to Lerou all along? Did he see the Russian agents and know that he was going to be taken away and just decide to Did he know who Lerou was?

His story wasn't cylindrical, but whatever the container was that held the secret of his story was cylindrical...but it seemed like a more catchy title than "cylinder dropper."

I was going to give the two men who grabbed the man a sub-profile, too, and the cylinder a sub-profile, too, but there's nothing we know about them that's not covered in the main or this sub-profile, so I didn't bother.
