Powers/Abilities: Like all Dakkamites Gron's body metabolizes starlight in a way that grants him superhuman abilities. It apparently mutated him heavily into a reptilian-like creature with a tail and claws on his hand and feet that looked nothing like a Dakkamite. He used an energy whip to torture other being, but also presumably used energy rifles (if his crew were any indication).

History:
(Nova Annual II#1 (fb) - BTS) - Gron and his heavily mutated crew of Dakkamites made it to Xandar where they enslaved the last remaining Xandarians to salvage goods for them from the devastated planet.
(Nova Annual II#1 - BTS) - Doc Green and Nova (Sam Alexander) came to Xandar looking for a black Nova helmet because they needed an undamaged capactior to repair Sam's helmet. They ran into Zarihs Didisqui and his family, who were collecting salvaged goods for Gron. Zarihs told them about their cruel master and led them to him after Sam promised them Doc Green's ship to get off the planet.
(Nova Annual II#1) - Using his energy whip Gron motivated his slaves to work faster. One slave told him that it took so long because they didn't have any tools, but Gron didn't want to hear any excuses. Nova destroyed Gron's whip with an energy blast, but as soon as Gron saw Nova's black helmet he was ecstatic because he had been looking for another one. Unfortunately Nova wanted the black Nova helmet Gron wore around his neck like a necklace. Gron didn't care and wanted his helmet and a chance to find out how Sam managed to make it work. Doc Green recognized Gron as a Dakkamite and confronted him about using his enhanced abilities granted to him by Xandar's son to enslave refugees. Doc Green took the black Nova helmet from Gron, who warned him that he didn't want a fight with him. Moments later Doc Green hit Gron with an uppercut so hard that Gron went off flying (probably into outer space).

He looked more like the Overlord, who was a Dakkamite from the 46th century from the alternate reality-6966, than any other Dakkamite we had ever seen in the regular Marvel Universe (see the likes of Aquarian, the Power Platoon or Quantum). Maybe Xandar's son mutated them in a different way those mutated by Earth's sun?
