EARTH-42979

Type: Divergent Earth

Environment: Earth-like

Usual means of access: Presumably vibrational attunement

Dominant Life Form: Humans, presumably other life forms also existing on Earth-1610

Significant Inhabitants: Timmy Conners, Lizard (Curt Conners), Spider-Man (Peter Parker)

First Appearance: Ultimate Spider-Man I#60 (June, 2004)

History: (Ultimate Spider-Man I#60) - Turning into the Lizard again, Dr. Curt Conners clashed with Spider-Man, throwing him aside and apparently killing him. Later that night, the Lizard entered the Conners home and burst into his son Timmy's room, killing the boy. This reality was later glimpsed in a dream by Curt Conners of Earth-1610.

Comments: Created by Brian Michael Bendis, Mark Bagley and Scott Hanna.

It is very likely that Earth-42979 had the same history as Earth-1610.
At least, up until the point that Curt Conners transformed into the Lizard again and killed his son Timmy, which is the divergent point of this reality from Earth-1610. --Proto-Man

Profile by Mike Castle.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Earth-42979 has no known connections to:

Timmy Conners

Timmy was the son of Dr. Curtis Conners. He was sleeping when his father, in the form of the Lizard, burst into his room. As the boy opened his eyes, the Lizard attacked and killed him.

Lizard

Curt Conners was a scientist and had a son named Timmy. Presumably, like his alternate counterpart from Earth-1610, Conners became the monstrous Lizard after an unsuccessful attempt to grow a lost arm and encountered Spider-Man. Under unrevealed circumstances, Conners turned into the Lizard once again and fought Spider-Man in a laboratory. He rushed at the superhero, knocking him over and throwing him aside, apparently killing the hero. Later, the Lizard headed toward the Conners home. When he got inside, the Lizard broke the door to his son Timmy’s room and looked at the photograph on which Timmy was depicted with Curt. The Lizard then went closer to the child's bed and killed him.

The Lizard had the same powers as his Earth-1610 counterpart, displaying superhuman strength, durability and apparently the ability to regrow lost limbs.

--Ultimate Spider-Man I#60

Spider-Man

Presumably Peter Parker, like his Earth-1610 counterpart, Spider-Man had once encountered the monstrous Lizard. When Dr. Curt Conners transformed into the Lizard once more, Spider-Man again fought with the Lizard, this time in a laboratory. The creature knocked him down and attacked, resulting in Spider-Man being thrown aside. Spider-Man apparently did not survive the battle with the Lizard.

Spider-Man presumably had the same superhuman powers that his Earth-1610 counterpart had, including superhuman strength, agility and a danger-warning "Spider-Sense."
