History:

(Wolverine Annual III#1 - BTS) - Chinese would-be-conquerer Chen Yu amassed a large following including his Dragon Warriors.

(Wolverine Annual III#1 (fb) ) - Yu received a strange visitor, the time traveling child Vincent Destine, a powerful Human/Djinn hybrid who warned him he would one day face a formidable foe. To effectively fight the foe, Vincent offered Yu a demon chest.

(Wolverine Annual III#1 (fb) - BTS) - Years later while conquering a snow covered mountain fortress, Yu and his Dragon Warriors came face to face with this fabled warrior, the Canadian mutant, Wolverine.

(Wolverine Annual III#1 (fb) ) - Wolverine fought Yu and his Dragon Warriors while Yu prepared to bomb the fortress. Wolverine, however, managed to stop Yu's plan by throwing his sword into the bomb's mechanics causing it to explode. Realizing the Canadian was in fact the warrior he'd been warned of years prior he opened the demon chest releasing a powerful demon. The demon was about to kill Wolverine when suddenly the British Adam Destine (father of Vincent) appeared. The invulnerable superhuman easily destroyed the demon, rescuing Wolverine.

(X-Men & Clan Destine I#2 (fb) - BTS) - Adam and Wolverine followed Yu but when his bomb devastated the entire mountain fortress Adam believed Wolverine to have perished.

(X-Men & Clan Destine I#2 - BTS) - Decades later Adam stumbled upon Wolverine whilst battling the extradimensional demon Synraith. Reminded of their battle against Chen Yu, Adam expressed he thought Wolverine had perished in the battle.

Comments: Created by Alan Davis and Mark Farmer.

Amazing! Alan Davis brought up Chen Yu in 1996 to establish Adam and Logan had previously met only to reveal what had actually transpired sixteen years later. This is where Davis truly delivers in his storytelling abilities always dropping little nuggets for future stories. I'm a fan!

I believe the story took place somewhere in between 1910's and early 1950's. Wolverine asks Adam if he's part of the English Secret Service, which was founded in 1909. Adam is also seen wearing a classic tuxedo and coat which was populair during the same time-period.

The Dragon Warriors were a large group of experienced combatants armed with swords who were loyal only to Chen Yu. When Wolverine faced Yu's Dragon Warrior's he wasn't all that impressed with his force.
