History:
(Daredevil/Black Widow TV series) - Black Widow was a costumed crimefighter who worked alongside Daredevil.

Comments: Created by David and Angie Bowie, based on characters created by Stan Lee, Don Rico and Don Heck (Black Widow) and Stan Lee and Bill Everett (Daredevil).

   In 1975 Angie Bowie, then wife of the famous singer David Bowie, convinced Stan Lee to license the rights of Daredevil and Black Widow to her, giving her a year to try and get a live-action TV series into production. To help sell the idea they enlisted costume designer Natasha Kornikoff, who had designed many of Bowie's Ziggy Stardust outfits, to make costumes, and professional photographer Terry O'Neill to then do a series of publicity shots of the characters in costume, with Angie playing Black Widow.

   For the character information, I am ASSuming that her basic bio information is identical to the comics version (not that in 1975 her real name was still considered to be Natasha Romanoff, not the more authentically Russian Natalia Romanova), while her height and eyes presumably would match Angie Bowie.

   This profile was completed 8/04/2021, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 20th anniversary 's celebratory event.

Comments: Actor Ben Carruthers portrayed Daredevil in the publicity photos, and was presumably the Bowie's choice to play the role had they managed to get the proposed series into production.

  

  As with Black Widow above, I ASSume that the character would have been Matt Murdock and probably a blind lawyer, just as in the comics, though with adaptations of comics, especially in the 1970s, that's by no means a certainty.
