History: (Bubble Funnies Mini-Comics#1 (fb) - BTS) - In an effort to do some research before a test in his Advanced Computer Science course the following day, Peter Parker obtained special permission to visit World Computer Communications, hoping to learn about their Instant Worldwide Information Console System.

(Bubble Funnies Mini-Comics#1) - Peter Parker took a bus to the World Computer Communications building, where he was turned away by an apparent security guard. His Spider-Sense tingling, Parker suspected something suspicious and changed into his Spider-Man costume to investigate the building. Soon finding the "guards" stealing computer technology from WCC, Spider-Man webbed up the false guards and tracked the missing technology to Doctor Octopus, who was using the tech to build a supercomputer. Battling the criminal, Spider-Man distracted Doc Ock by threatening to pull over and destroy Ock's supercomputer, forcing Doctor Octopus to halt his battle with Spider-Man in an effort to keep the supercomputer from being destroyed. Spider-Man then took advantage of Ock's distraction to remove Ock's glasses, leaving the Doctor practically blind as Spider-Man apprehended him. Spider-Man then spent the rest of the night learning about the WCC's computer as he reassembled it using the returned parts Doctor Octopus had stolen.
