History: (Spider-Man Magazine I#5) - The villainous Nightmare turned to supervillainy, causing nightmares in children and becoming enemies with the heroic Sparkler, Light and Doctor Dream.

Nightmare was a product of the 1994 Spider-Man Magazine's "Create Your Own Super Hero or Super-Villain" section that ran in earlier issues of the Magazine. In Nightmare's case, he was created by then-8-year-old Max Koepke of Sedona, Arizona. As a fringe character, there was nothing to confirm Nightmare's existence on Earth-616 but there is equally nothing to say he didn't exist there either...

Nightmare's height and weight were impossible to determine as he was never seen next to a character whose height and weight was officially determined. Plus, judging from the only image of him, it's possible he is some sort of weightless entity, as he appeared ghost-like.

Nightmare's origin was never revealed but I'm somewhat inclined to treat him much like the more-well-known Dr. Strange foe Nightmare and say he is also some sort of dream demon...
