MURDERMALL

Classification: Terrestrial death trap (disguised as a mall)

Creator: Arcade

User/Possessors: Arcade

First Appearance: Merry X-Men Holiday Special#1 (February, 2019)

Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Murdermall functioned as both a large shopping plaza and semi-lethal death trap for its customers. Arcade had tweaked the danger levels to provide a challenging escape room while only being lethal to a small percentage of its customers. The Murdermall was equipped with a snow generator that caused its floors to become icy and random explosions would periodically erupt within the Murdermall. It was also equipped with various dangerous robots including those of various superheroes and Santa Claus and it housed fake candy canes that could fire laser blasts at its targets.

It also housed actual retail stores that sold actual merchandise that its targets could potentially attempt to acquire at their own risk.

History: (Merry X-Men Holiday Special#1/25 (fb) - BTS) - The assassin Arcade was hired by unidentified parties to design a fully immersive way for families to enhance their shopping experience. Staying true to type, Arcade designed a large deathtrap under the guise of it being a shopping mall and dubbed it Murdermall.

(Merry X-Men Holiday Special#1 - BTS) - When several test groups proved unable to survive the Murdermall, Arcade captured the mutant Jubilee and her adopted son Shogo on December 1 to further prove Murdermall's worth.

(Merry X-Men Holiday Special#1/6) - After being placed inside Murdermall, Jubilee woke on December 6 and prepared to venture out to get breakfast for herself and her adopted son Shogo. She soon found herself surprised to see falling snow inside the mall.

(Merry X-Men Holiday Special#1/11) - On December 11, Jubilee rushed through the mall with Shogo in tow, fighting off all sorts of superhero robots bent on killing her and telling Shogo about the malls she grew up in. Sliding in the fake snow within the mall, Jubilee turned a corner and Shogo dropped his plush Bamf doll. Promising they would get the doll back, Jubilee kept moving to avoid the robots, unaware that someone had picked up the doll.

(Merry X-Men Holiday Special#1/20) - Jubilee spent December 20 dodging random explosions going off throughout the mall and timed a jump to both avoid an explosion and retrieve Shogo's Bamf doll.

(Merry X-Men Holiday Special#1/25 - BTS) - Arcade was contacted by the parties that had hired him to construct Murdermall and chewed out since no one seemed to be able to survive Murdermall. The parties angrily informed Arcade that they did not wish to kill their customers, as it would be bad for business. Arcade argued that he had spent the last few weeks beta testing the Murdermall and informed the parties that not only did Jubilee survive the Murdermall but her son did as well. Shocked that Arcade had placed a child within his deathtrap, the parties appeared mortified but Arcade insisted that while malls were dying, his Murdermall was both an escape room and a Black Friday sale in one package, and that the parties would be missing a chance if they did not continue to invest in the Murdermall. Arcade then showed his previously interested parties footage of Jubilee's time in the Murdermall and assured them that even the weakest of X-Men was capable of surviving in the Murdermall for weeks. When one of the parties asked about Arcade placing an X-Man in the Murdermall, Jubilee escaped the Murdermall and busted into Arcade's control room. Jubilee then punched out Arcade as Storm and Nightcrawler arrived to rescue her, having been called one of Arcade's interested parties.

The Murdermall was a variant of Arcade's typical Murderworld death traps
