History: (Daredevil I#170) – Working for Wilson Fisk in Japan, where Fisk was working as a spice dealer, Lynch set up a sparring match between Fisk and several martial artists. After winning the fight in 17 seconds, Fisk said the fight was too easy and he wanted more men to fight next time, and Lynch agreed. Lynch was present when one of the men called Fisk "Kingpin." Fisk attacked the man, though he pulled back when his wife Vanessa entered the room. Lynch remained present when Mr. Harrison of the United States Attorney General’s office arrived, seeking some of Fisk's files. Lynch saw Vanessa offering to fly to New York with Fisk's men, including Hymie and Jocko, and secure the services of attorneys Nelson and Murdock. Vanessa was soon kidnapped by the leaders of Fisk's rival mobs.

(Daredevil I#171/Daredevil I#172 (fb) - BTS) – Lynch attacked Quin (who'd been on the phone with Lou), a criminal who had been involved in an attempted hit on Kingpin. Lynch shot Quin multiple times then took Quin to Kingpin to be questioned. Turk and Grotto brought in a man named Shades (secretly Daredevil in disguise) to the Kingpin's base and Kingpin ordered Lynch to kill him but "Shades" disarmed Lynch, impressing Kingpin, who offered him a job. Remaining in the room, Lynch witnessed Duke wander in, saying he'd been attacked by Bullseye, and deliver a message that demanded Kingpin show up for a meeting before Duke dropped dead. Lynch asked Kingpin to take charge of the mobs again and Kingpin became furious, threatening Lynch and reminding him that he only wanted a quiet life with his wife again. Kingpin defeated "Shades," exposing him as Daredevil, and Lynch advised Kingpin to not go to the meeting but Kingpin went anyway, using sonics to take down Vanessa's captors as Lynch stayed in the car. The villains then seemingly blew up Vanessa and Lynch rushed Kingpin away, secretly the mastermind behind the explosion that apparently took Vanessa's life in hopes of inspiring Kingpin back into action.

(Daredevil I#172 (fb) – BTS) – Having been affected by the sonics used by Kingpin, Lynch had a terrible headache for a few days and the Kingpin noticed.

(Daredevil I#172) – Kingpin launched a counter-offensive on the mobs, led by Lou and Henry, from his base in the sewers. Bullseye tracked the Kingpin (after questioning criminals Mickey, Joseph Pike, and Willy), and learned where he was stationed but Kingpin had a trap waiting. Pike rushed in to warn the Kingpin that Daredevil was on to him and Kingpin ordered Lynch to move secure files. Lynch took Grotto, Turk and another to move the files but Daredevil attacked, grabbing the files and successfully escaping. Lynch reported back to Kingpin, who didn't seem overly upset, having replaced the files with useless newspapers to trick the hero. Kingpin moved to take over the mobs again and successfully recruited Bullseye. Kingpin called Lynch in and confronted him, revealing he knew of Lynch's duplicity. Lynch initially denied and then drew a gun but Kingpin beat and killed Lynch for his betrayal.
