History: (Marvel Year-In-Review '92) - A member of the moon-faring Inhumans, Lockjaw traveled to Earth seeking a tree to relieve himself against, but in this dystopian era, not only did a tree not grow in Brooklyn, they didn't grow anywhere else. Luckily, since he could teleport, Lockjaw was able to continue his desperate, planet-spanning search for that one chance of relief.

Comments: Created by (probably) Fabian Nicieza. He reports on the 2099 characters as ones that editor Joey Cavalieri informed him had been rejected by editorial, which if true would mean another, unidentified party created them, but I'm ASSuming that was just Fabian's schtick for the humorous article rather than factual. The artist is unidentified, but it looks like art clipped from another comic that has been slightly modified to give it a 2099 spin. I'm thinking Jack Kirby, but I'm no expert on recognizing artists by their style.

There's no mention whether this is the original Lockjaw who has survived (or traveled) to 2099, or a descendant of same. Since his Inhumans are noted as still living on the Moon, he's not the Lockjaw of Inhumans 2099, who had left for space. Though the article mentioning him is tongue-in-cheek, I can't see any reason why he wouldn't fit into the original version of 2099, Earth-928, so for the moment I'm ASSuming that's where he originates.

Profile by Loki.
