(Daredevil I#341 (fb) - BTS) - Kai-Shek operated as a drug-lord in New York City for the Asian Tongs. He formed a long-term working relationship with the Kingpin. When prosecutor Kathy Malper closed in, Kai-Shek grew furious.

(Daredevil I#340/341 (fb) ) - Kai-Shek threatened Kathy Malper to get out of town and drop the case or he would kill her.

(Daredevil I#341 (fb) ) - Kai-Shek accompanied Kingpin in hunting down Victor Krueller, or Kruel, who had betrayed the Kingpin. In rural Pennsylvania, Kingpin beat Kruel nearly to death in front of a group of civilians, including Kathy Malper, who had fled from him. The other civilians included Karen Page, Glorianna O'Breen, Foggy Nelson, Robert Asbury, and Ben Urich. Kingpin ordered the restaurant burned down, and the memories of the civilians erased.

(Daredevil I#342 (fb) ) - Kai-Shek and Kingpin's other men pulled the civilians into a spice warehouse and administered a drug that altered their memories of recent events, then they delivered the civilians back to their homes.

(Daredevil I#341 - BTS) - Hearing that Kruel was on a rampage, Quon-Shek called Kingpin, through his aid Connor, and told him that the Tongs were holding off on new business until Kingpin cleaned up the current mess. Kingpin assured Quon-Shek that he would handle things.
