History:
(Black Panther: The Man Without Fear#515 (fb) - BTS) - Brian Fitzgerald grew up with one uncle as his guardian and no other family.

(Black Panther: The Man Without Fear#513) - Brian was a server/busboy at Devil's Kitchen, working alongside Mr. Okonkwo (secretly the Black Panther) and Sofija, the main waitress.

(Black Panther: The Man Without Fear#514 (fb) - BTS) - Brian and Sofija were concerned when Luke Cage came into Devil's Kitchen wanting to talk to Okonkwo; the man showed himself into Okonkwo's office to wait for him.

(Black Panther: The Man Without Fear#514) - When Okonkwo came in for work, Brian and Sofija warned him about Cage. Soon, Okonkwo and Sofija gave Brian advice on asking his crush out, but Okonkwo rushed to investigate when the bank nearby was surrounded by police. Brian went out to investigate and got caught in an explosion. The robbers took him hostage, and the Black Panther responded, but Vlad the Impaler caused another explosion that sent Brian hurling to the ground. Black Panther saved him, but Vlad attacked again and Brian was badly wounded.

(Black Panther: The Man Without Fear#515) - Brian lay wounded as Sofija stood over him. Okonkwo rushed to the hospital to find Brian Fitzgerald, and were told that he died in surgery. In actuality, Dr. Holman experimented on Brian, revealing that she had been working with Vlad's son, Nicolae Dinu, on finding a test subject to experiment with Vlad's powers on. Brian lay helpless as they made their plans.

(Black Panther: The Man Without Fear#516 (fb) - BTS) - Holman experimented on Brian for several days, giving him brain surgery to keep him under control as he learned to use his new kinetic energy super powers. Sometimes his powers knocked the power out, and once it killed a few patients in the hospital above.

(Black Panther: The Man Without Fear#516 - BTS) - Okonkwo and Sofija attended Brian's funeral, where his uncle also showed up.

(Black Panther: The Man Without Fear#516) - Nicolae arrived and Holman had Brian demonstrate his powers by killing a rat. When the power went out, young Gabe Dinu helped Brian escape his cell, then he took him outside. There, Gabe confessed that his mother had been beating him before she died, then he injected himself with some of the Holman serum.

(Black Panther: The Man Without Fear#517) - Brian drooled in an empty building as Gabe went off to ask Iris, the woman who had killed his mother, for help. Brian killed a rat with his new powers.

(Black Panther: The Man Without Fear#520 (fb) - BTS) - Brian lost memory of his own identity and wandered the streets until Kraven the Hunter found him.

(Black Panther: The Man Without Fear#520) - As Black Panther and Storm closed in on Kraven, the villain forced Brian to use his powers against him, having been given control of Brian by Dr. Holman. Brian lashed out with several electric blasts, even as he yelled apologies to Panther and Storm. Kraven took the fight back to Dr. Holman's lab, where Piranha-Boy was locked up, and the Panther followed, soon convincing Kraven that Holman had lied to him.

(Black Panther: The Man Without Fear#520 - BTS) - The heroes forced Holman to operate on Brian, restoring his normal functioning. As Brian healed, they predicted he would lose his super powers.
