History:
(X-Men II#178) - Leading an archeological dig in Akkaba, Egypt, Doctor Foster was intrigued by the notion ancient Egyptians played cricket thousands of years before the British when he fell through a hole in the ground. Foster, was able to find his torch but after creating light was shocked by a shadow on the wall.

(X-Men II#179) - Finding himself in an ancient crypt, Doctor Foster discovered the ancient mutant supremacist Apocalypse. Apocalypse was about to wake after the Scarlet Witch had cast a reality-altering spell to shut off the mutant gene, reducing mutantkind to only a handful of mutants.

(X-Men II#181) - Faced by the ancient mutant Apocalypse, rattled by his presence Doctor Foster went on rambling about cricket. Stirred from his sleep, Apocalypse realized he once again needed four Horsemen and decided to take the Egyptologist with him and teleported himself and Doctor Foster to his Sphinx-base.

(X-Men II#182) - Apocalypse pitted Doctor Foster against depowered mutant astronaut Gazer in a fight to the death for the honor of being transformed into his Horseman, War. Apocalypse's servant Ozymandias pulled Foster into a small arena where both men received Egyptian battle-axes. The fight between the men was overseen by Ozymandias who in fact planned to double-cross his master. Foster quickly gained the upper hand in the fight but just as he was about to kill Gazer he was struck in the back by Ozymandias, killing the Egyptologist with a dagger as to put Gazer, the future Horseman War, in his debt.
