History: (Season's Beatings#1/4 (fb) - BTS) - During the original west coast Avengers' time in California, Hawkeye (Clint Barton) gave Detective March a business card in case of trouble. Years later, after a mall Santa turned up murdered, Det. March decided to call the number on the business card, only to have it go to a laundromat. Det. March then contacted the newest west coast Avengers branch for assistance.

(Season's Beatings#1/4) - Meeting Hawkeye (Kate Bishop) at Kevin's restaurant, Det. March explained how he had contacted Bishop's team after the business card he had received years ago went to a laundromat. Hawkeye agreed to help in the investigation but when Kid Omega insulted March and began making sarcastic comments about being in a mall, Det. March asked Hawkeye if he would be going to prison for shooting an Avenger. Det. March then led Hawkeye and Kid Omega to the crime scene, where the mall Santa had been bludgeoned with a giant candy cane. When Hawkeye asked if March had any leads, he introduced her to Larry and a group of other potential mall Santas, explaining that they had earlier fought over who got the job as Santa and how they had all waited for the murdered Santa to get off his shift. March then explained that none of the mall Santas were talking and the only evidence was a blood-smeared candy cane with smudged mitten prints on it. Admitting that CSI wasn't in their budget, March remarked that one of the mall Santas was going down and that he only needed the west coast Avengers to determine which one. March then sat patiently as Kid Omega used his telepathic powers to scan the minds of the mall Santas but Kid Omega's telepathic invasion of their Santas' minds prompted the other mall Santas to attack Hawkeye. When the Santas ran over March to get at Hawkeye, March was surprised at the strength and speed of the running Santas, wondering if they had perhaps been holding out all these years. Hawkeye quickly fought back, exposing one of the mall Santas as an alien Skrull, much to March's shock. Following the Skrull's defeat and subsequent arrest, March commended Hawkeye on her work exposing the Skrull and gave her his card, remarking that she was way better than the original Hawkeye and that he could now spend the holidays watching college sports games stress-free.
